Matthew 21:33-43

Parable of a Landowner.

I have always read and understood this passage as God being the owner of the vineyard and Jesus the Son whom He sent. But that is as far as my understanding went until this morning.

The Holy Spirit unveiled something in verse 41 and 43. The priests and Pharisees understood that the vineyard would be taken away and given to those who would produce fruit.

I wonder, am I producing fruit for the Kingdom of God? How many people call themselves Christians but don’t produce fruit? No fruit, no vineyard.

Verse 43 – “Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing its fruit.”

It is a responsibility of every Christian to be producing fruit for the kingdom of God.
