Grow Up in The Word

New to salvation? Don’t stop there.

like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
1 Peter 2:2 NASB

God has a plan to grow you called sanctification. Are you longing for the pure milk of the word? As babies progress from milk to solids, the newborn Christian grows from salvation to righteous living.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.
Hebrews 5:13‭-‬14 NASB

Are you practicing what you are reading in God’s word?

With faithful reading and application of God’s word comes blessing and a thankful heart to God.

How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart.
I shall give thanks to You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.
Psalms 119:2‭, ‬7 NASB

Will you make the word of God a habit until it becomes your treasure?

🌹Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.
I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word.
Psalms 119:11‭, ‬15‭-‬16 NASB

AMEN.

Who is God?

For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God,

1 Samuel 2:2 NASB

🌹There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours. All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God.
Psalms 86:8‭-‬10 NASB

Word of The Lord

The word of the Lord is tried;
Psalms 18:30b

The words of the Lord are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.
Psalms 12:6 NASB

The precepts (commandment or direction given), of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
They (the words of God) are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Psalms 19:8‭, ‬10 NASB

Are you being refined by God’s word?
Do you love God’s Word?

🌹Your word is very pure, Therefore Your servant loves it.
Psalms 119:140 NASB

As for God, His way is blameless; (complete; or having integrity; or perfect)
Psalm 18:30a NASB

God, Your work is perfect, for all Your ways are just. You are a God of faithfulness and without injustice.  Righteous and upright are You, my Lord.
Your law is perfect (blameless), restoring the soul. Your testimony, O Lord, is sure, making wise the simple.
Lord, You are righteous in all Your ways and kind in all Your deeds. You are my Lord, my King, my God. Lead me in Your perfect way, clothing me in Your righteousness for Your name sake, and giving me wisdom to understand Your perfect will. Thank You, God. Glory to Your name, amen.

Following Jesus

I am not following Jesus if I put myself before Him.

And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Mark 8:34 NASB

He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3:30 NASB

🌹“He who comes from above is above all, . . . He who comes from heaven is above all.
John 3:31 NASB

Wise or Unwise?

So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17 NASB

The unwise do not know the will of God.
They are foolish.
Where do we find the will of God?
In the Word of God.
Those who learn it will walk in wisdom.

Opening and reading the Bible daily will open the door to adventure that compares to no other. The wise will seek the Word, know the Word, and follow the Word so they can do the will of God.

🌹Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:10 NASB

Mercy

And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him.
Matthew 18:34 NASB
My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”
Matthew 18:35 NASB

A man was shown mercy for a debt owed to his lord but turned around and showed no mercy to a fellow slave who was indebted to him. This man was forgiven his debt and set free but turned around and sent his fellow slave to jail until he was repaid.

Jesus forgave the debt of sin I owed by His blood.

And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Hebrews 9:22 NASB

Jesus opened the door to salvation. Without forgiveness there is no salvation.

We aren’t to take God’s forgiveness and turn to our brother or sister in Christ and not forgive them. But we also are not to  superficially forgive by lip service but are to forgive from the heart. Without true mercy we sentence ourselves to a prison of bitterness, anger, resentment, and separation from God.

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:36 NASB

🌹“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Matthew 5:7 NASB

Inscrutable Understanding

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.
Isaiah 40:28 NASB

Do you ever think, “God must get really tired of hearing from me”?
God’s word says He doesn’t. He totally understands us. We can go to Him with all the garbage in our lives, our gripes, complaints, our woes, etc. God’s understanding is unfathomable! And He is available 24/7. Talk to God. He’s our Father.

🌹Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.
Psalms 147:5 NASB
