If Only

If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out, then I shall give you rains in their season, so that the land will yield its produce and the trees of the field will bear their fruit. Indeed, your threshing will last for you until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until sowing time. You will thus eat your food to the full and live securely in your land. I shall also grant peace in the land, so that you may lie down with no one making you tremble. I shall also eliminate harmful beasts from the land, and no sword will pass through your land. But you will chase your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword; five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword. So I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will confirm My covenant with you. You will eat the old supply and clear out the old because of the new. Moreover, I will make My  dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject you. I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. — Leviticus 26:3-12

If . . . Then. I remember a time when the hand of God was upon the United States. We were a blessed nation because we stood on the foundation and belief in Jesus Christ. We were a respected nation. What happened? We have ceased (as a nation) to obey the God who was walking amongst us. We have ceased to be His blessed nation.

If only. . . . . . . .

Blasphemy

Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The alien as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death. — Leviticus 24:16

How seriously do you take the blaspheming of “the Name”? Do the disrespectful words just roll off the tongue without any thought to His righteousness?

I believe God takes it seriously. If He does then I will too. Practice I shall, to bring honor to God in fear of His righteousness.

I Am The Lord

Reading through the book of Leviticus, I noticed that in chapters 18-22, as God was laying down the law through Moses that the statement “I am the Lord” was written 38 times.

I got to thinking, “Why would I keep, or attempt anyway, to keep these laws”? If it weren’t for the fact that “I am the Lord” I don’t think I would even try.

You are to perform My judgments and keep My statutes, to live in accord with them; I am the Lord your God. So you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, by which a man may live if he does them; I am the Lord. — Leviticus 18:4-5

Full of Delight

I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.” — Psalm 40:8

I found this verse to be “delight”ful. After reading Psalm 37:4  the other day, “delight in the Lord” and now reading this — transformation comes in our lives through our Lord. Through His Word. Through obedience to His law (Him).

Hide God’s Word in your heart. You will delight in Him and His will. That’s a delight full life. (Could not pass this one up: obedience brings about de Light full life). Have a blessed day.

Desire

Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart. — Psalm 37:4

Many will read this verse and right away think that they will receive whatever that desire of the moment is. What you need to know is when you delight yourself in the Lord a transformation takes place. You will still receive the desires of your heart but you will find that your desires have changed.

One of my favorite verses. I have tasted and it is good.

Sabbath

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. Therefore you are to observe the sabbath, for it is holy to you. — Exodus 31:12-14a

The Glory of The Lord

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. — Exodus 40:34-35

It happened that when the priests came from the holy place, the cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord. — 1 Kings 8:10-11

Can you just imagine the glory of the Lord from these verses? His glory FILLED the tabernacle! His glory so great that no one could enter into the tabernacle.

In 1 Kings the priests were already in the tabernacle when God’s glory filled the place. His glory so great the priests, God’s chosen to serve Him, could not stand before His glory.

Do you ever wonder what it will be like, what you will do, when you actually see God in all His glory?

Wise Counsel

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.

— Psalm 1:1-3

Lord, Show Us

Then Moses said, “I pray You, show me Your glory!” — Exodus 33:18

Have you ever asked? Have you ever seen the glory of God manifested in your life?

I have seen glimpses of His glory and look forward to seeing my Lord in His full glory one day. Can you say that?

Oh God, show us your glory, I pray!

A Quick 40 Days

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a god who will go before us; as for  this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” — Exodus 32:1

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go  down at once, for your people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made for themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it and have sacrificed to it and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!’” — Exodus 32:7-8

40 days and the people of Israel were ready to give up. God looked at 40 days as quick. We need to be in the presence of the Lord daily for we so easily and quickly turn away. Gird yourself with the Word and enter into fellowship with the Lord because we need His reassurance daily.
