God of Comfort

But God, who comforts the depressed (humble), comforted us by the coming of Titus; and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced even more.
2 Corinthians 7:6‭-‬7 NASB

What a beautiful picture of our God. The Father of mercies and God of all comfort. He comforts each of us through His own beloved people. The church, God’s people, being the hands of comfort during trials, struggles, uncertainties, fear, etc. Under the influence of the Holy Spirit we are comforted and in turn comfort others. Aren’t you amazed when a brother or sister comes to comfort you and you find they have gone through a similar thing as you and share how God got them through? And they will probably reference someone who came along side them who had already experienced a similar situation.

God knows your afflictions, your woes, etc. Call out to Him, watch and wait to see how the Comforter, our Lord, will respond.

🌹Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1:3‭-‬4 NASB

Forever Lovingkindness

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
Give thanks to the God of gods,
Give thanks to the Lord of Lords,
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Lord my God, You are the God of gods and the Lord of Lords. You are worthy of my reverence and obedience. You are the great, the mighty, and the awesome God! You are a good, good God and I am thankful for Your faithfulness and everlasting lovingkindness. To You be the glory forever! Amen

Search Me, Try Me

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
Psalms 139:23‭-‬24 NASB

Examine me, O Lord, and try me; Test my mind and my heart. As You have declared Lord God. “Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that iniquity may not become a stumbling block to you”, I turn now from every evil way in me. Help me amend my deeds and seek no other God but You. Incline my ear to listen to You Lord God. O Lord, lead me in Your righteousness and make my way straight before me. Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me. In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. In the glorious name of Jesus, amen.

Don’t Be A Fool

And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.’ ”
Job 28:28 NASB

The fear of (reverence for) the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.
Psalms 111:10 NASB

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 NASB

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7 NASB

God Almighty, whose praise endures forever, I bow before You. In reverence of Your Holy name I commit to reading Your Word everyday so that I may grow in wisdom and knowledge of You. I do not want to walk as the foolish do, who walk in evil without understanding, and despise wisdom and instruction. I desire to walk in the knowledge of the Holy One, my Lord. You are my understanding, God. In understanding I will strive to obey Your commandments. I do not want to be a fool. To know You is to have wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
You are the Holy One in whose name I pray amen.

🌹The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.

Treasured Word

My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
Job 23:11‭-‬12 NASB

🌹Lord God of Your Word. God of truth. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. As I receive instruction from Your mouth, establish Your words in my heart that my heart will not turn back, and my steps will not deviate from Your way. How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! It would still bring me comfort, and I would leap for joy, even in unrelenting pain, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One. God, I ask that You establish Your word to me, Your servant, as that which produces reverence for You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Friday’s Praise: The King

And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”
Revelation 5:13 NASB

🌹Prayer:

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Doubt

But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
Matthew 28:16-17 NASB

The disciples saw Jesus face to face and worshiped Him. . . . BUT some were doubtful. Why?

In Mark 16:11 it says when the eleven heard Jesus was alive and had been seen, they refused to believe. Could they have doubted because “we are His disciples so He surely would come to us first”?

In Luke 24:11 when the women came from the tomb stating that an angel told them Jesus had risen, the disciples thought they were talking nonsense and would not believe them.

Jesus confronted them in Mark 16:14, for their “unbelief and hardness of heart.

Are you experiencing doubt, unbelief, hardness of heart? Seek Jesus in prayer. He wants to hear from you. He wants to strengthen your walk, lighten your load, guide you to the Father and fulfill His purpose in you.  We can’t do life alone. We need Jesus.

🌹Jesus, help my unbelief. Soften my heart for those in need of belief in You. And when I doubt Lord, remind me that you are with me even to the end of the age. I need you Jesus. Amen.

Redeemer

As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Job 19:25 NASB

Most High God, my Redeemer, I acknowledge that You are my rock. Even now, Jesus is my witness who is in heaven, and my advocate on high. You are my strong Redeemer who will vigorously plead my case against those who try to rob my soul. I have bore Your indignation because I have sinned against You. Thank You, Jesus, for pleading my case before the Father and executing justice for me. You have brought me out to the light to  see Your righteousness. My heart faints within me longing for the day when I myself shall behold, And my eyes will see my Redeemer take His stand on the earth. To You, Lord God, be the glory as I pray in the name of Jesus, my Redeemer. Amen.

Is My Lamp Still Lit?

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
John 8:12 NASB

Do you have have the Light of Life, Jesus Christ?

Jesus, I no longer want to walk in darkness, I surrender my life to follow You, the Light of my life. Amen.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14‭-‬16 NASB

Jesus, You have made Your own a light in  this world. Let my life shine in this world in such a way that others may see the true Light and glorify the Father in heaven. For Your glory I ask, amen.

“Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light.
Luke 8:16 NASB

Lord God, may I shine the light of salvation to everyone I come in contact with. When my light flickers from fear, embolden me Lord that I may shine even brighter with the light of the gospel so others may know the true Light, Jesus Christ. For Your glory, amen!!

🌹My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

True God and Eternal Life

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
1 John 5:20 NASB

God, our Father, we love Your Son because He had come from You. He did not come on His own initiative but in obedience to Your sending Him. Jesus, who was manifested, seen, and testified of has been proclaimed to us for eternal life. He was with You Father and manifested to us. In sending Your Son, He opened our minds to understand the Scriptures through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Through Your Holy Scriptures we may know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ through whom we have eternal life.  Although we have never seen You, our Father at any time, Jesus, who is at Your bosom, has explained You.
Father, we know whoever denies Your Son does not have You; the one who confesses the Son also has You, our Father.
Thank You Father for sending Your Son in whose name we pray. Amen.
(John 8:42 NASB, 1 John 1:2, NASB, Luke 24:45-49 NASB, John 17:3 NASB, John 1:18 NASB, 1 John 2:23 NASB)

🌹And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
