What a glorious adventure I just completed for 2016. For the first time in my life I read the Holy Bible all the way through!!! Oh the beautiful, challenging, wonderful things I experienced on this journey. Looking forward to next year as I “Spend Everyday With Jesus”.
How about you? What made 2016 a journey to treasure for years to come?
My New Year’s Resolution:
Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! — Psalm 150
God bless your new year as you praise Him while leaning, trusting, seeking, obeying, serving and loving Him.
Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.
Do not trust in nobles, in man, who cannot save. When his breath leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die.
Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lordhis God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains faithful forever, executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The Lord frees prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are oppressed. The Lord loves the righteous. The Lord protects foreigners and helps the fatherless and the widow, but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.
The Lord reigns forever; Zion, your God reigns for all generations. Hallelujah! — Psalm 146
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. 11 For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me. In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. 12 And in Your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies And destroy all those who afflict my soul, For I am Your servant. — Psalm 143:10-12
You are my God and I am your servant. Teach me Your will. Lead me. Revive me. Protect me. All for the sake of Your name. Your glory. Your will. Your purpose. Your righteousness. Your lovingkindness.
This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn’t keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him: 6 The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked. — 1 John 2:3-6 (HCSB)
There are many who call themselves Christians. . . Do you call yourself a Christian? You can know for sure. The standard is right here in these verses.
Do you keep His commandments? (Obey)
Do you walk just as Jesus walked? (Humbly, sacrificially, obediently)
Don’t know His commandments or how He walked? Check out the Bible. It will tell you.
