Memorial Day

Today we remember the sacrifice of many who gave their lives so that we might live free in this land we call the United States of America.
As Americans, have we taken this freedom for granted?

As Christians around the world, do we take for granted the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ?

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 NASB

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:13 NASB

As these servicemen of the branches of the Armed Forces gave their lives for freedom out of love for their country, Jesus gave His life for all creation, the entire world.

Professing Christian, are you forsaking the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for your freedom by becoming a slave once again to the ways of the world?

🌹God, I once again surrender to You as Your bondservant, who by Your grace, I am set free. Forgive me Lord God when I use this freedom, given to me by Your sacrifice, as a covering for any kind of evil. Help me to keep standing firm on Your foundation. As a bondservant for Your namesake, I proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord! To Your glory, Jesus Christ, my Savior! Amen.

🌹Lord may You cause us to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people. God, the Holy King of Your Church, the body of Christ. I praise You with a thankful heart for Your children in whom my heart is blessed, filled up, full of joy as we are fellow partakers of Your glorious grace. For I long to impart some spiritual gift to them, that they may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with them while among them, each of us by the other’s faith, both theirs and mine.
Help me to always be ready to remind them of Your grace, abounding love, and to be established in the truth which is already present with them and they already know and has been established and is present with them. God, through You, it is my request as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, my body, to stir up fellow partakers of Your grace by reminding them of this great gift of the gospel. May I in turn also be reminded by my dear brothers and sisters. May the words I speak not be condemning, Lord, as we live and die together for Your kingdom sake. It came about when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.

So when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone. So Moses would replace the veil over his face until he went in to speak with Him.

Does your light shine in the darkness?
Does Jesus shine in your heart from having  spent time with Him? Does your heart give the Light of knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus so others see?

🌹Time spent in prayer and reading the Bible, God’s Holy Word, is never wasted.

God, shine Your Light in and through me that others may see Your glory and come to the knowledge of You. Amen.

Just Rejoice

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
Philippians 4:4 NASB

Sometimes all we can do is throw our hands up and rejoice.

Sometimes it is easy. . . And sometimes it is hard.

When it is hard, rejoicing will refresh your perspective, lighten your burdens, and most of all redirect your thoughts, plans, motives, ideas, down heartedness, and eyes back to the One in whom we rejoice. Our Savior. Our Redeemer. Our Rock. Our solid ground. Our cornerstone. Our God! Our Everything!!

🌹GOD, I will rejoice greatly in You, my Lord. My soul will rejoice in my God; For You have clothed me with garments of salvation, and wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. In You, Lord God I will rejoice. In Jesus name, amen.
