Thirst

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?
Psalms 42:1‭-‬2 NASB

These verses never get old. O how I thirst for God, the living God, longing to appear before Him. Longing for my faith to be made sight. But until that day I’ll walk with Him, serve Him, love Him with my whole being, with all I am and all I have.

🌹 Do you have a longing for God?

Jesus, Our Righteousness

I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10 NASB

The beauty of salvation and righteousness. As a bride and groom on their wedding day. God the Father, by Jesus the Son, adorns the believer with the garment of salvation and a robe of righteousness, not of our own doing, for that marriage feast to come.

🌹Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Revelation 19:7‭-‬8 NASB

Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.
Genesis 15:6 NASB

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
Romans 8:10 NASB

But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
1 Corinthians 1:30 NASB

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB

having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:11 NASB

and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
Philippians 3:9 NASB

The Bible

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
Psalms 107:20 NASB

The king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people entered into the covenant.
2 Kings 23:3 NASB

God shows the way,  His perfect way, through His word. God sent His word so we don’t have to walk in darkness and ignorance. If we don’t read God’s word we don’t know how to walk with God in fellowship, love and obedience.
Josiah surrendered his heart and soul to walk with God and to keep His word. And the natural outcome is that others will join you in following by the testimony of your walk and talk.

Praise God for His word and the privilege of living out His word before others.

🌹From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the Lord is to be praised.
Psalms 113:3 NASB

Forever God

Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.
Isaiah 51:6 NASB

For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10 NASB

“For a brief moment I forsook you, But with great compassion I will gather you. In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you,” Says the Lord your Redeemer.
Isaiah 54:7‭-‬8 NASB

The earth and it’s inhabitants are not forever.
The world may be falling apart all around you.
God’s anger may be upon His people for a moment, which may seem like forever to us,

BUT. . .
God’s salvation is forever. His righteousness will never end.
God’s love for His children is everlasting.
His peace will not be shaken.
God’s compassion is for you.
God is our Redeemer!

🌹For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Psalms 30:5 NASB

Fire

Who is among you that fears the Lord, That obeys the voice of His servant, That walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.

Behold, all you who kindle a fire, Who encircle yourselves with firebrands, Walk in the light of your fire And among the brands you have set ablaze. This you will have from My hand: You will lie down in torment.
Isaiah 50:10‭-‬11 NASB

Who lights your fire? Reliance and trust in yourself or in the Lord God? The choice is yours.

🌹for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
Ephesians 5:8, 11 NASB

Grace & Compassion

Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.
Isaiah 30:18 NASB

The Lord God of all creation, Sovereign God, full of grace and compassion is patient. He desires to show compassion and give grace. Do you long for Him?

Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O Lord, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls. At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Isaiah 26:8‭-‬9 NASB

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 NASB

For the sake of My name I delay My wrath, And for My praise I restrain it for you, In order not to cut you off.
Isaiah 48:9 NASB

Great love has God for you. He is a just God, patient God, longing to bless with salvation. Restore fellowship with you. Walk with you, abide in you.

How will you respond?

🌹And I will wait for the Lord who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; I will even look eagerly for Him.
Isaiah 8:17 NASB

Are You Willing?

Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, “Since you have rejected this word And have put your trust in oppression and guile, and have relied on them, Therefore this iniquity will be to you Like a breach about to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose collapse comes suddenly in an instant, For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing,
Isaiah 30:12‭-‬13‭, ‬15 NASB

Could these words of the prophet Isaiah be relevant today? The Word of God is relevant for every generation, past, present and future.
Are we any different than generations past, ignoring the word of God, even God Himself? God is patient but He will not wait forever.

🌹The time is now.“In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” Are you willing?

P.S. Go to God right now. Don’t wait. Confess and turn to Him. Find fellow believers to grow with, learn from, be encouraged by. Trust in the Lord.

For The Lord Has Spoken

O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.
Isaiah 25:1‭ NASB

For You have been a defense for the helpless, A defense for the needy in his distress,
A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat;
For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall. Like heat in drought, You subdue the uproar of aliens; Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is silenced.
The Lord of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain;
A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine.
And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations. He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken. And it will be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”
Isaiah 25:4‭-‬9 NASB

“Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.”
“on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.
He will swallow up death for all time,”

O glorious day that will be when we are gathered together with our God who will wipe tears away from our faces. When death is swallowed up for all time. Our hope in whom we are waiting. Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.

Let God Be Magnified

Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let God be magnified.”
Psalms 70:4 NASB

Can I not help but to be glad and rejoice in the One I seek? He said, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 NASB

I enjoyed this weekend playing “Hide and Seek” with my granddaughters. As much as they enjoyed hiding from me, when I found them there was much rejoicing and laughter. God does not hide from us when we seek Him. And when we find Him, there is much rejoicing.

Thank you God for the salvation that only comes through You, Jesus. Thank you for saving Your seekers. Magnify Yourself in us so others may find and rejoice in You also.

🌹I say, “O, God be magnified!”

Before Creation

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
John 17:5 NASB

Jesus knew His mission before He ever left His heavenly throne, yet He came anyway. He came for the Father, in obedience. He came for you and me out of His abundant love. Jesus came to reconcile the Father to His creation. He came that we may know His glory and share in it.

The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
John 17:22‭, ‬24 NASB

Remembering the glory with the Father that was before creation began. Before Jesus would leave heaven and come to earth. That is our hope, that we may know and share in the glory that Jesus knew before He left His place with the Father.

🌹What a sacrifice. What abundant love. What a hope we have in Jesus. Are you living/walking in His glory now?
