“Be ready in season and out of season” 2 Timothy 4:2b
Have you ever been called upon to teach at the last minute?
Well my first time was today. 15 minutes before our Bible Study hour I was asked to teach our Senior Adult class. That part was not a problem as I was once their fulltime teacher. They showed me a lot of grace over the five years I was with them.
Though I jumped at the opportunity, because I love to tell the story of Jesus, I was apprehensive and prayed as I crossed the hall to grab a quarterly to at least know what scripture they were studying today.
Let me just tell you that my God knows my heart. He knows that each day I long to see His glory. Each day I long to see His work in others and in me. I long to tell of His glory as He opens my eyes to His different attributes displayed as He moves. The scripture we looked at today was from John chapter 11. Many are familiar with the story of Lazarus and Jesus raising Him from the dead. Verse 40 says, “Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?'”. Well God opened the door and let me tell of His glory through this lesson.
Each day is filled with opportunity to serve our Lord and to see His glory as we obediently follow Him, even into uncharted opportunities.
Do you know Him, trust Him, rely on Him? He will not let you down. Be ready at a moments notice to follow Him into those waters that He has chartered even if you haven’t. It is well worth the trip just to see His glory!
Continually seeking Him,
Sharon
