Giving to Those in Need

But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-walk!”

Acts 3:6 NASB

Yesterday I was approached to help someone with gas. This person had been helped before – and not too long ago – through our benevolence ministry. Being unable to accommodate the request I took what few dollars I had in my wallet and gave.

What I gave would satisfy for the moment but what if I had taken the time to share the gospel?

That person would have left with a much greater treasure in meeting Jesus or they might not ever return because they wouldn’t want to hear the message again.

God’s precious gospel changes lives. We are called to share it. We must be bold. We must be obedient.

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'”

For additional boldness and obedience in the gospel read Acts 4 and 5.

Let’s make a difference.

Continually seeking Him,

Sharon
