Press On

Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12 NASB

Laid hold of as a chosen instrument, vessel, by Christ Jesus, I am a bond-servant of His and nothing can separate me from the love of Christ.

In devotion to You, Jesus, who has already laid hold of me, I will press on to the upward call of God. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I will fight the good fight of faith with a clear conscience. I pray for self-control in all things, setting aside any hindrances and sin that entangles so I can run the race with endurance, disciplining my body by making it my slave and putting to death deeds of the flesh and living by the Spirit. Help me to run in such a way that I will win and receive the crown of life and the wreath of glory. Thank You, Jesus, for my life. I pray I will bring honor and glory to Your name as I press on. In Your name I pray, amen.

We are a work in progress. We have not yet become perfect but when the perfect comes the partial will be done away. Grow in Christ, letting Him chip away the partial to bring you to perfection.
1 Corinthians 13:10

🌹I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Galatians 2:20 NASB

Press On

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 3:14

Running the race of life for Jesus is fulfilling our individual call of God on our lives. Pressing on is moving forward — conditioning ourselves for the run by practicing the Word of God, by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, serving Him everyday in word and deed.

Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, (Hebrews 6:1) Imagine a child just learning to walk. They try and try and try again pressing on toward the goal of reaching their parent’s outstretched arms. Can you imagine God holding out His outstretched arms encouraging you to press on to the prize that awaits you? The prize of perfect, undefiled, eternal fellowship with God in heaven. He is there ready to pick us up when we fall. Persevere to the end of the race. Press on to cross the finish line.

If you are not growing in your faith you are out of the race. How is your walk (or should I say run) going? Are you pressing on? Are you practicing the Word of God daily? Are you spending time with Jesus every day? Do the things you say and do bring glory to God? Keep your eye on the goal.

Continually seeking Him,

Sharon

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. — Hebrews 12:1-2
