O Lord, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? Psalm 15:1 NASB
He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, Psalm 15:2a NASB
• He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood And has not sworn deceitfully. Psalms 24:4 NASB • He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity, • He who rejects unjust gain And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; • He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil; Isaiah 33:15 NASB
And speaks truth in his heart. Psalm 15:2b NASB
• Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25 NASB
• These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; • judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates. Zechariah 8:16 NASB
🌹He who does these things will never be shaken. Psalms 15:5c NASB
If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. 2 Chronicles 7:13-15 NASB
🌹Hear from heaven, God of all creation, our humble prayer of repentance. Forgive us our sin and wicked ways as we seek Your face. Heal our land Lord God. Be attentive to our prayers being offered up to You today. For Your glory and kingdom cause. Amen.
‘If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me— I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies—or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled so that they then make amends for their iniquity, then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land. Leviticus 26:40-42 NASB
🌹 Oh God, turn the hearts of Your people back to You so You may bless our nation with Your righteousness. Forgive us our unfaithfulness and acts of hostility toward You and Your word. As we humble ourselves before You, remember Your covenant through Jesus, our Savior, and forgive us.
Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer. O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach? How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah. But know that the Lord has set apart the godly man for Himself; The Lord hears when I call to Him. Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in the Lord. Many are saying, “Who will show us any good?” Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord! You have put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety. Psalms 4:1-8 NASB
Blessed be the Lord, Because He has heard the voice of my supplication. The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him. The Lord is their strength, And He is a saving defense to His anointed. Save Your people and bless Your inheritance; Be their shepherd also, and carry them forever. Psalms 28:6-9 NASB
As the National Day of Prayer approaches on May 6, the next 5 days of devotions will be prayers.
To You, O Lord, I call; My rock, do not be deaf to me, For if You are silent to me, I will become like those who go down to the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You for help, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. Do not drag me away with the wicked And with those who work iniquity, Who speak peace with their neighbors, While evil is in their hearts. Requite them according to their work and according to the evil of their practices; Requite them according to the deeds of their hands; Repay them their recompense. Because they do not regard the works of the Lord Nor the deeds of His hands, He will tear them down and not build them up. Psalms 28:1-5 NASB
🌹 May we regard Your word diligently, applying it to our lives in obedience, praying for our neighbors and others around us to seek You while praising you for the work, You Lord God, are doing. In Jesus name, amen.
The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and just is He. Deuteronomy 32:4 NASB
Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments; Deuteronomy 7:9 NASB
🌹Faithful God, work Your perfect way in me. Make my desire be to love you with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and to be obedient to Your commands, faithful to your kingdom cause, all to Your glory!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim good news of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He also is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and joy are in His place. Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him; Worship the Lord in holy attire. 1 Chronicles 16:23-29 NASB
🌹Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His faithfulness is everlasting. Then say, “Save us, God of our salvation, And gather us and save us from the nations, To give thanks to Your holy name, And glory in Your praise.” 1 Chronicles 16:34-35 NASB
“But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?
Where then does wisdom come from? And where is this place of understanding?
And to mankind He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to turn away from evil is understanding.’ ” Job 28:12, 20, 28 NASB
Sounds so simple but such a struggle. Turning our eyes upon Jesus with reverence (fear) is wisdom. The wise will turn to Jesus and seek Him. With eyes upon Jesus we have no desire for evil. The true understanding of who Jesus is will turn the heart away from evil.
