He (Hezekiah) did right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father David had done.

he did what was good, right and true before the Lord his God.

Wouldn’t it be something if we had the same reputation that Hezekiah, king of Judah, had? Doing right in the sight of our Lord? Doing what was good, right and true before the Lord?

When we belong to God there are expectations. After all we are the temple of the Holy Spirit who resides in us.

So how did Hezekiah do it?

He trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel; so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among those who were before him. For he clung to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses.
2 Kings 18:5‭-‬6 NASB

Hezekiah obeyed.

You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
Deuteronomy 13:4 NASB

Hezekiah surrendered his life to God.

Before him there was no king like him who turned to the Lord with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; nor did any like him arise after him.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely (lovable and gracious), whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on (ponder) these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Jesus You are truth, the truth. You are honorable, Lord God, worthy of honor and praise. You are right, the only righteous God. You are pure and holy. God of grace and worthy of love. You, Sovereign God are of good, excellent repute. God, I will dwell on You, the embodiment of all these attributes. Your excellency is worthy of my praise.
I have learned and received and heard instruction through Your word and godly people and want to practice these attributes so as to be counted among the godly. The mouth speaks from that which fills the heart; may my heart bring forth what is good out of the good treasure of my heart. My desire is to walk in an acceptable way in Christ’s service, to be acceptable to God and approved by men that they may see from my excellent behavior and good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation. God of peace, be with me as I practice these attributes. I pray in the name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen.
