Godliness Brings Persecution

Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

‭‭It is not a matter of whether you will be persecuted, but when, if you are living a godly life.
Jesus, who led the perfect godly life,  was persecuted. . .

Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

Have you been there? Persecuted? Then rejoice!

For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:9‭-‬10‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

And remember . . .

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
🌹To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Where’s Your Focus?

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. — Matthew 6:33

Jesus’ own words say to seek His kingdom and His righteousness first. He wants the best for us and seeking after Him and His righteousness makes all the difference in our lives.

Why do we struggle, work exhaustively, stress out, worry and fret to feed ourselves and clothe ourselves? Why don’t we use that worthless energy more productively by seeking what is beneficial, eternal and worthy?

Jesus allows us to focus on the important things in life — His kingdom and righteousness — while He provides for the temporal needs — clothing and food.

So where is your heart and focus today? Are you trusting God to provide your needs and seeking Jesus?

Continually seeking Him,

Sharon
