For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”
Therefore,
“Come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”
And,
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”
2 Corinthians 6:16b-18 (NIV)
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. — 2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV)
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. – 1 Thessalonians 4:7 (NIV)
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; — 1 Peter 1:15 (NIV)
for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” — 1 Peter 1:16 (NIV)
Why should we be holy? If for no other reason it should be out of reverence for God. He is worthy. He deserves it. Seek to please the Lord in all you do by being holy and pure. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. — 2 Corinthians 5:9
Keep practicing until you are more and more like Jesus. Keep seeking.
Continually seeking Him,
Sharon
Thank you for this! We need to remember that we are called to be holy – commanded to be, because He is holy.

Thank you Maria for your comment and your follow. Everyday I walk with Jesus I desire to be more like Him and especially please Him in all I say and do. That makes the journey of life well worth living.

Sharon, yes, it does!
And we must do this – for without holiness, no one will see the Lord. And then it is also our happiness to obey.
