Make Up Your Mind

But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself  — Daniel 1:8a

But if you do not worship, you will immediately be cast into the midst of a furnace of blazing fire; and what god is there who can deliver you out of my hands?”

Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego     replied to the king, “O                               Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” — Daniel 3:15b-18

Daniel made up his mind. Do you think Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego made up their minds? Have you?

Cease Striving (Be Still)

“Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” — Psalm 46:10

One of my favorite verses that I fall back on quite often. When my life seems overwhelming and I can’t keep up with all the demands this world throws at me, when the peace I experience with the fullness of Christ in me has fled — I’m reminded that I need to be still in God’s almighty presence, exalt Him and know He is in control of all things, including my life.

Being still in His presence, I pray a prayer that includes praise and thanksgiving which helps me to know my God is mighty and can handle whatever comes my way. Prayer for others reminds me that some have worse hurdles than mine to get over and prayer for myself helps me relinquish my life to the One who gave it to me.

There is NOTHING too big or too small that the God of this universe, who created you, can’t handle. Cease your striving and know that He is God. HE WILL BE EXALTED!!!!!!!

Prayer, As Always

Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously. —  Daniel 6:10

How faithful are you in personal prayer time? Oh, that we were a kingdom of people who prayed. How would things be different? How would you be different? Different enough that your prayer life would continue even if it meant “being cast into the lion’s den”? Do you have the strength to persevere? Prayer — faithful, continuous, earnest prayer — makes a difference in your life, the life of others, and the world. Are you making a difference?

You are God

Before the mountains were born
Or You gave birth to the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. — Psalm 90:2

You are God!!!

What significance are those three words to you? How is your worship and praise of God affected by them?

To You, God,  be the glory because You are!!!

O Lord

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.  Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name. — 1 Chronicles 29:11-13

And forgive us when we do not acknowledge that You are. Open our eyes to see your splendor that we may be reminded that you are worthy to be praised, thanked, exalted, and revered. Only You are head over all. All things come from You. All we need is You! Help our lips to speak Your praise, not only to others but to You, O Lord,.

Amen.

Who’s In Control?

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. — Galatians 4:4-5

God’s timing is perfect. His ways are perfect. He is in control of all things. Jesus came to bring us redemption so we can be adopted into the family of God where He is in control.

Have you been redeemed and living under the control of mighty God?
