Temple Dwelling

Okay, I could be stretching this a bit but. . .
Are we who confess Jesus as the risen Messiah, the temple of the Holy Spirit? Is not the Holy Spirit God?

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:19 NASB

We have the glory of God residing in us and yet we walk around with glum faces, walking as if we are lost, stressed to the max . . . need I go on?

If this is our demeanor then we should ask, as David did:

One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty (delightfulness) of the Lord And to meditate (inquire) in His temple.
Psalms 27:4 NASB

With salvation comes our eternal abiding with our God. Are we seeking to dwell with the Lord in our very being? Do we delight in the Lord God and seek the Word as we meditate on the word?

For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 6:20 NASB

🌹O Lord, I love the habitation of Your house And the place where Your glory dwells.
Psalms 26:8 NASB

God bless your day and weekend!

Confident Trust

Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be (I am) confident.
Psalms 27:3 NASB

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.
Psalms 3:6 NASB

Wow! Those are two very bold statements. Are you that confident in trusting God? I can, without a doubt say, ‘No, I am not’. I can also truthfully say, ‘I want to be’.

Life is not without challenges of dealing with difficult people. People who are determined to argue, disagree, set themselves against you, persecute you, especially when we are walking with God.

That is the point right there. Walking with God. The closer our walk, the more we learn to trust. The more we trust, the more confidence we have in God.

🌹Let’s pray, asking God to bring us to confident trust in Him.

Fearless Trust

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense (refuge) of my life; Whom shall I dread?
Psalms 27:1 NASB

For You light my lamp; The Lord my God illumines my darkness.
Psalms 18:28 NASB

On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
Psalms 62:7 NASB

The Lord is their strength, And He is a saving defense to His anointed.
Psalms 28:8 NASB

If God has brought us to His glorious light illuminating our darkness and given us salvation then whom shall we fear?
He is our rock and our refuge. Whom then shall we dread?

🌹I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the Lord.”
Jonah 2:9 NASB

🌹The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?
Psalms 118:6 NASB

Seek and Know

“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind (soul); for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.
1 Chronicles 28:9 NASB

The grace of God allows us to find Him.
Seeking God is to know Him.
Knowing God is to revere Him.
To revere God is to worship, respect, honor, exalt, cherish, adore, admire, obey and seek.

🌹You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 NASB

Like My Father

He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. Thus you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.
Deuteronomy 8:3‭-‬5 NASB

Out of the heavens He let you hear His voice to discipline you; and on earth He let you see His great fire, and you heard His words from the midst of the fire. Because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them. And He personally brought you from Egypt by His great power, Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
Deuteronomy 4:36‭-‬37‭, ‬39 NASB

I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men,
2 Samuel 7:14 NASB

Do you feel like you are being beat up at times? Nothing seems to be going the way ‘it should’? Life is superhard and nothing is going well?
That’s the time when we need to be still and examine our hearts. Talk to God in prayer. Those hard times can be God’s discipline. I know,  I have been there many times. Just remember that God’s discipline is for our good and His glory. I’m thankful God disciplines me.  Why? Because it makes me more like my Father.

🌹For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
Proverbs 3:12 NASB

Hopeful

You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Psalms 32:7 NASB

I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the Lord.
Psalms 40:1‭, ‬3 NASB

Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done.
Psalms 64:9 NASB

🌹The righteous man will be glad in the Lord and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory.
Psalms 64:10 NASB

Our trusting in God during the storms of life is a testimony to those who are watching. Let us persevere while waiting for the glory of hope in His provision.

Promise

And I will strengthen them in the Lord, And in His name they will walk,” declares the Lord.
Zechariah 10:12 NASB

Father, thank You for sending Jesus, Your Son. Strengthen me in the Lord Jesus and in His name I shall walk according to Your promise. Jesus, I need You. Help me to walk in a manner that gives You praise and evidence of Your glory.  Amen.

Just the Beginning

“Say to all the people of the land and to the priests, ‘When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months these seventy years, was it actually for Me that you fasted? When you eat and drink, do you not eat for yourselves and do you not drink for yourselves?
Zechariah 7:5‭-‬6 NASB

🌹Are we about God in our Christian walk or ourselves? Salvation isn’t the end game but just the beginning.

Righteous Garment

Naked before the Lord God I stand. Hide my nakedness in Your robe of righteousness I ask. Clothe me and shine through me as Your vessel of righteousness to the world.

🌹I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10 NASB

Saul’s Testimony

Saul giving His testimony of the occurence found in Acts 9:1-31

“But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me, and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’ And I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.’
Acts 22:6‭-‬8 NASB

The words, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ had never really struck me before until yesterday at church when the Pastor pointed out that Saul, at that moment surrendered his will. He called Jesus, Lord! He yielded to this superior voice.

But there is more, like the conviction I experienced when Saul, a persecutor of the Church, would be helped by the very people he was on a rampage to destroy. . .

But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem; and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.”
Acts 9:13‭-‬14 NASB

Ananias was directed by Jesus to go to Saul and help him.

How would you have responded to Jesus telling you to go to Saul?

If you were Saul, how would you have responded to the help from the church you were out to destroy?

We can be zealous for God but let’s not turn that zelousness into persecution of others. Let us, with prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit, help one another on the road to reconciliation.

Zealous Saul was changed. Do we believe God can change a person? Do we trust God and walk along side this person as we journey?

Some things to think about. I know I will be evaluating my walk as I ponder these thoughts.

🌹Have a blessed day in the Lord.

Continually Seeking Him,

Sharon
