Seeking God’s Will or Our Own?

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. ”

Are we seeking God’s will in our lives? Or, are we seeking our own way, our own desires?
Do we boast in ourselves or boast in the goodness of God?

Clutter

A friend was writing about piles of clutter in your house. The longer it sits around the more it just becomes a part of the decor, it blends in and becomes unnoticeable.

This reminded me of sin. If we aren’t aware of sin it piles up so much that we don’t notice until we are so deep in the muck and mire that we can’t see our way out and wonder how we got there.

Focusing everyday on Jesus, being in His Word, talking to Him, and putting action to His commands and ways can keep the clutter away.

Set you your mind on the things above; keep seeking the things above. Colossians 3:1-3
