Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, but some also from good will; the latter do it out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; the former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives (not sincerely), thinking to cause me distress in my imprisonment. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice.
Philippians 1:15-18 NASB
God of truth, I pray I will always proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ out of love and goodwill. I ask that I proclaim in sincerity with pure motives.
Even for those who proclaim Christ, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ, seeking their own selfish ambitions and do not obey the truth, I pray their proclamation of the gospel will still be used to bring glory to Christ and salvation to those who hear. In this I rejoice. God’s word does not come back void. In Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
2 Corinthians 11:13/Romans 2:8 NASB
🌹So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11 NASB
