Gentle Quiet Spirit

Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
Philippians 4:5 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/php.4.5.NASB1995

Do you have a gentle spirit? Have you ever thought about where a gentle spirit comes from?

Your adornment must not be merely external . . . but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
1 Peter 3:3a-4 NASB1995‬

A gentle spirit comes from Jesus. The imperishable and gentle quiet spirit is the Holy Spirit that resides in a saved person. Precious in the sight of God is the reflection of the Father’s Son, Jesus, in us. Surrendering our whole heart to God will transform us into a gentle spirited person.

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
Romans 12:1 NASB1995‬

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;
For, “The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. He must turn away from evil and do good; He must seek peace and pursue it.”
1 Peter 3:8,10-11 NASB1995‬

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Galatians 6:10 NASB1995‬

🌹But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

With My Mouth

I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”
Psalms 40:8 NASB1995‬‬

‭‭‭‭
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Psalms 143:10 NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.143.10.NASB1995

God’s holy word is where we find His will and learn to livingly obey it. Under the Holy Spirit’s guidance we can understand, practice and speak God’s will with confidence. Following Jesus, is doing as He did.

Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
John 4:34 NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.4.34.NASB1995

We are born again for a purpose. To obey God’s word and follow it.

‭‭for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.
1 Peter 1:23 NASB1995‬‬

I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, O Lord, You know.
Psalms 40:9 NASB1995‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.40.9.NASB1995

Within the great congregation is where I have learned to hide Your word in my heart, but outside the congregation:

I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.
Psalms 40:10 NASB1995‬‬

I cannot keep quiet. So,

‭‭🌹I will sing of the lovingkindness of the Lord forever; To all generations I will make known Your faithfulness with my mouth.

Steadfast & Immovable

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58 NASB

All things done for the kingdom of God is worth the toil we extend. What is this life on earth compared to eternity?Should our time be used for our gain, joy, and not care for others on the road to eternal death?

Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God
1 Corinthians 15:50 NASB

Perishable must put on imperishable and mortal must put on immortality then death will be swallowed up in victory!
1 Corinthians 15:54-55 NASB

Are we sreadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord so those around us can be thankful, as we are, for the victory given to us through our Lord Jesus Christ?

🌹The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:56‭-‬57 NASB

The Judge

If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
1 Peter 1:17‭-‬19 NASB

Life is more than the imperishable treasures of this earth. Life is Jesus Christ, Him alone. If you are a Christian, you were bought with the precious blood of Christ. Are you living with, for, in Christ to bring glory to God and gain the imperishable gift of being in the glorious presence of God for eternity? OR are you living the perishable life?

🌹God the Father will be the judge.

Continually Seeking Him,

Sharon
