Pray to The God of Life

pray without ceasing;
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1th.5.17.NASB1995

Different versions of the Bible quote this verse as:
Pray without ceasing
Pray constantly
Pray continually
Also:
Always keep on praying
Never stop praying
Constantly pray

The gist of this is that we pray. Do it. Prayer is important.
Prayer is talking with God. When we are in a relationship, talking is essential to thrive, to build a good relationship. So, if God is with us always¹, why would we not communicate with Him continually.

Prayer does not have to be on our knees. It does not have to be with our hands together. It does not have to be with our eyes closed (I definitely would not recommend this while driving). Prayer can happen wherever you are. It can happen at any time. ²God does not sleep. He is available 24/7.
¹Matthew 28:20, ²Psalms 121:3-4

Share your joys, fears, hurts, victories, losses, intimate, personal thoughts . . . EVERYTHING! Every minute of your day. He is waiting to hear from you.

As children of Almighty God, what a privilege we have to bring anything and everything to Him in prayer.

What a privilege to have full access to God through prayer. Be confident that God hears your prayers.

🙏Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth.

🌹Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer Nor His lovingkindness from me.

Wondrous Blessings

Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.
Psalms 40:5 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.40.5.NASB1995

Do you ever ponder the wonders God has performed in your life? Are you aware of the times He has intervened on your behalf; the blessings He has poured out on you? Do you vocalize it with praise and thanksgiving to God? Do you share with others so they may know His wonders?

🌹Testimonies of the wonders of God in your life are a marvelous way to bring the wonders of God to others.

Have a blessed weekend making memories with God at the center of all you say and do.

Do This in Remembrance

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
1 Corinthians 11:23-25 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/1co.11.23-25.NASB1995

Every time we, as Christians, take the Lord’s supper, we are reminded that we are sharing in the body and blood of Christ.

Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 10:16 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/1co.10.16.NASB1995

Jesus came serving the Father, surrendered to His will. Jesus gave His life out of love and in obedience to the Father. As followers of Christ are we willing to surrender our lives to serve our Lord? Whatever the cost?

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:28 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.20.28.NASB1995

🌹Let your heart therefore be wholly devoted to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments, as at this day.”
1 Kings 8:61 NASB1995‬
https://bible.com/bible/100/1ki.8.61.NASB1995

‭Jesus paid the ultimate price, His life for you. Are you ready to surrender your life for Him?

Thankful For . . . Day 5

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Psalms 107:1 NASB

The day after reflecting on “Thanksgiving”, celebrating with family and/or friends, what have you come to know about your blessings? God blesses us, and let all the earth fear Him.
Psalms 67:7 NASB

Knowing God is the source of all blessings, should we not “Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name? Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted?” Praise the Lord in song? He has done excellent things; Let this be known throughout the earth.
Isaiah 12:4‭-‬5 NASB

🌷Dear God, as we enter into the season of celebrating the most significant and glorious gift ever given to mankind, may our thankful hearts remember to exalt You, the giver of abundant blessings, and make known the wonderful, life giving deeds of a child born in Bethlehem. With a thankful heart I pray that this Christmas season will bring multiple opportunities to share the everlasting lovingkindness of our God and why we celebrate Jesus, in whose name I pray, amen.

Word of Comfort

Remember [fervently] the word and promise to Your servant, in which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has revived me and given me life. — Psalm 119:49-50        When I have [earnestly] recalled Your ordinances from of old, O Lord, I have taken comfort. — Psalm 119:52

Where do you turn to for comfort? Your best friend? Mom? Dad? Brother? Sister?

The Psalmist here prays to God for comfort. He reminds God to remember (or was he reminding himself) His word and promises given to him, His servant. “Your word causes me to hope”. For those with no hope, there is no comfort.

God’s word is able to comfort and revive. It gives life. The Word encourages, inspires, guides, and gives us hope. It tells of a faithful friend who is always there for us, listens to all we have to share with Him — our pains, struggles, anger, hurt, as well as our joys, triumphs, and dreams. He gives us life.

Go to Jesus first. He knows what you need and when you seek comfort He finds just the right way and time to bring you comfort. It may be with a phone call or a visit from a friend. He cares for you more than anyone you will ever know. Let us trust Him with our lives and He will bless it. We will be comforted.
