God IN You?

We have come to know and have believed the love which God has (in) for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
1 John 4:16 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1jn.4.16.NASB1995

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:7 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1jn.4.7.NASB1995

🙏“We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.”
John 6:68 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jn.6.68.NASB1995

No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29³

Love Him!!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Deuteronomy 6:5⁵

Serve Him!!!
know God and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; . . . 1 Chronicles 28:9⁶

Praise Him!!!!

🌹For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Do You Know God?

We make time to spend with family. We make time to spend with friends. We make time to do our favorite things.
All of these can be beneficial, but time with God is the most beneficial to our lives and eternity. Time with the Lord God is for getting to know Him and for opening up ourselves to “be known” by Him.
To know someone, really know someone, takes effort and time spent with them.

🌹Do you know God or just “of” Him?

Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jer.9.23-24.NASB1995

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

God’s Great Love

God’s Great Love

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:4-7 NASB1995

🌹Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

Unconditional Childlike Faith

Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”
Luke 18:17 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.18.17.NASB1995

This verse got me thinking. What does childlike faith look like?

I looked at attributes of a child; attributes of a child toward their caregiver. . .

They are innocent, dependent on and trusting those who care for them. They demonstrate unconditional love. They are curious to learn and explore. They often adapt well to new circumstances because they do not have a care in the world. They feel secure.

I’m sure you can come up with some yourself.

If God is our cargiver and we are His children, do we demonstrate these attributes as we walk with Him?

He (God) has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mic.6.8.NASB1995

and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Abiding God

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15 NASB1995

This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

Unconditional Love

Let all that you do be done in love.
1 Corinthians 16:14 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1co.16.14.NASB1995

ALL that we do?

In love for God?!

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Colossians 3:17 NASB1995

1 Corinthians 10:31 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1co.10.31.NASB1995

All that we do?

Toward Others?!

“In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 7:12 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.7.12.NASB1995

If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.
Luke 6:32, 35 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.6.32-35.NASB1995

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Romans 13:10 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.13.10.NASB1995

Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

Sacrificial Love

This past weekend many celebrated Easter. Some celebrated with the Easter Bunny, hunting eggs, eating lots of candy, and fellowship with family and friends. Many attended church services to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

On the subject of Jesus and His resurrection meant that He died. Why did He die?

Jesus Christ chose to die out of His love for a dying world of sinners who had no hope of eternity. But the good news is, He rose from the dead, and because of His sacrifice of love, we as believers have the Holy Spirit living in us. We also have the hope of a peaceful eternity.

His love made all the difference. Now we have been called to love as Jesus loved. Sacrificially. Jesus loved all of humanity. Jesus died for all humanity. All of God’s created beings.

A Pharisee asked Jesus, prior to His crucifixion,
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

This is the great and foremost commandment.
Matthew 22:36-38 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.22.36-38.NASB1995

The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 22:39-40 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.22.39-40.NASB1995

🌹As Jesus loved His creation, you and I, we are to love others.

Favorite/Life Verse(s)

Do you have a favorite verse(s)? Or a verse(s) that keep you focused on your walk with God? Some may call it their “Life” verses. I would love to hear from you if you’re willing to share.

Here’s mine:

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Galatians 2:20 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/gal.2.20.NASB1995

And . . .

He must increase, but I must decrease.
