Plentiful Harvest

I was recently visiting a farmstead and noticed cornstocks used on posts of a porch as fall decor. The leaves had turned brown and the corn, not visible, I imagined was not bright yellow any longer. I squeezed one and it seemed hard.
The fresh corn at harvest left in the sun without water would eventually die and be returned to the dirt.

God has called us to a dying world in need of seed and harvest. Left unattended, uncared for, unloved, the heart will turn hard, the soul will no longer thrive, returning to the dirt and eternal death.

And He (Jesus) was saying to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech¹ the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

¹ implore, appeal, ask, pray, supplicate

🌹Will you pray asking God to prepare you and others for the harvest? 🙏

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.            Acts 2:42 NASB

Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.               Acts 2:43‭-‬47 NASB

🌹 Is this what the church looks like today? Are we the Family of God? Are we one body, the Body of Christ? Is this why salvation of souls is diminishing?

And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”      John 13:35 NASB
