For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever (dwells in eternity), whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.
Isaiah 57:15 NASB

Can you even fathom that the God of the universe,
– who is purely Holy (Isaiah 57:15)and
– who is eternal (Isaiah 57:15)
– who dwells on high on a throne in holy heaven with the earth as His footstool (Isaiah 66:1a)
– who made heaven and earth and all things that have come into being (Isaiah 66:2a)
Would care enough to dwell also with a contrite and lowly spirit such as you and me?

The Lord declares, “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
Isaiah 66:2 NASB

Why?
Because.  .  .

– The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
– God will not despise a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17)
– so He can revive the heart of the broken hearted

🌹To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:3 NASB

To whom shall I speak and give warning That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed And they cannot listen. Behold, the word of the Lord has become a reproach to them; They have no delight in it. Thus says the Lord, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, The fruit of their plans, Because they have not listened to My words, And as for My law, they have rejected it also.
Jeremiah 6:10‭, ‬16‭, ‬19 NASB

For You Are God

Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
11 For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me.
In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And in Your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies
And destroy all those who afflict my soul,
For I am Your servant. — Psalm 143:10-12

You are my God and I am your servant. Teach me Your will. Lead me. Revive me. Protect me. All for the sake of Your name. Your glory. Your will. Your purpose. Your righteousness. Your lovingkindness.

Amen

Return, Know, Press On

“Come, let us return to the Lord.
For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. — Hosea 6:1

‘See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand. — Deuteronomy 32:39

“He will revive us after two days;
He will raise us up on the third day,
That we may live before Him. — Hosea 6:2

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning. — Psalm 30:5

“So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord.
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.” — Hosea 6:3

But My Eyes Are Open

Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing; and leading him by the hand, they brought him into Damascus. — Acts 9:8

How many times have you been led by the hand to church on a Sunday morning (for some Saturday night)? I know as a child I was led by the hand of my mother. For years I was led as a blind person, my eyes open but seeing nothing.

How many are sitting in churches this morning, being led by family members, friends, routine, tradition or duty and though their eyes are open, they see nothing? This breaks my heart.

Are you praying for the congregation that you sit with, that the eyes of their hearts will be open? That the message of Jesus Christ would be proclaimed from the pulpit in truth? And have you examined the eyes of your heart to see if you are seeing 20/20?

The church needs reviving and it begins with the individual. I hope you see the Light clearly and pray for healing from the blindness that is invading our churches.

I Will Dwell

. . . “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word. — Isaiah 66:2

For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite. — Isaiah 57:15

O how I long to dwell with “the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy”. O Lord revive my spirit when I come with a repenting heart. Keep me humble in all my comings and goings. I tremble at Your word because it is truth and convicts my soul. I tremble when I see Your majesty and glory and realize I am not worthy to stand before Your throne. But I rejoice because You do allow it and desire to dwell with me.
