You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, You have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors, Hosea 10:13 NASB
You’ve heard the saying, “You reap what you sow”. Sowing wickedness reaps injustice and the fruit of lies.
Being people of a sinful nature we tend to reap poor crops because the seed we sow is planted with wrong motives and watered with pride, deceitfulness, selfishness, greed and so forth. Self-centered sowing, trusting in our own abilities or in those who “know best”, the powers that be (Government, Military, people of influence, etc.)
Where should our trust be?
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but I trust in the name of the Lord my God. Psalm 20:7
🌹 Begin with the seed of trust; fertilize with the Word of God; water with the abounding love and grace of God. Prayerfully wait on the Lord, trusting in a bountiful harvest.
What a glorious adventure I just completed for 2016. For the first time in my life I read the Holy Bible all the way through!!! Oh the beautiful, challenging, wonderful things I experienced on this journey. Looking forward to next year as I “Spend Everyday With Jesus”.
How about you? What made 2016 a journey to treasure for years to come?
My New Year’s Resolution:
Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! — Psalm 150
God bless your new year as you praise Him while leaning, trusting, seeking, obeying, serving and loving Him.
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. 11 For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me. In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. 12 And in Your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies And destroy all those who afflict my soul, For I am Your servant. — Psalm 143:10-12
You are my God and I am your servant. Teach me Your will. Lead me. Revive me. Protect me. All for the sake of Your name. Your glory. Your will. Your purpose. Your righteousness. Your lovingkindness.
“Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons. — Deuteronomy 4:9
You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up. — Deuteronomy 11:19
Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it. — Proverbs 22:6
Do you have a testimony to share? Is God alive in your life? Do you walk with Him daily? Have you seen the power of God working in you through His Word?
We have lost the power of a testimony in our world. If God is alive and working in our lives we are commanded to not forget what our eyes have seen and to not let them depart from our hearts but to tell of them. Let us pass the legacy of Jesus Christ onto our children and grandchildren by telling them of the great and wonderful things He has done in our lives. But don’t stop there. Tell everyone. You could be encouraging a brother/sister or introducing Jesus to someone. Let us not be silent.
I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.” — Psalm 40:8
I found this verse to be “delight”ful. After reading Psalm 37:4 the other day, “delight in the Lord” and now reading this — transformation comes in our lives through our Lord. Through His Word. Through obedience to His law (Him).
Hide God’s Word in your heart. You will delight in Him and His will. That’s a delight full life. (Could not pass this one up: obedience brings about de Light full life). Have a blessed day.
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a god who will go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” — Exodus 32:1
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go down at once, for your people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made for themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it and have sacrificed to it and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!’” — Exodus 32:7-8
40 days and the people of Israel were ready to give up. God looked at 40 days as quick. We need to be in the presence of the Lord daily for we so easily and quickly turn away. Gird yourself with the Word and enter into fellowship with the Lord because we need His reassurance daily.
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. — 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Who is your authority in matters of life? Morality? Decision making? Spiritual development?
“But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? “Man does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land of the living. “The deep says, ‘It is not in me’; And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’ “Pure gold cannot be given in exchange for it, Nor can silver be weighed as its price. “It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, In precious onyx, or sapphire. “Gold or glass cannot equal it, Nor can it be exchanged for articles of fine gold. “Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned; And the acquisition of wisdom is above that of pearls. “The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, Nor can it be valued in pure gold. “Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding? “Thus it is hidden from the eyes of all living And concealed from the birds of the sky. “Abaddon and Death say, ‘With our ears we have heard a report of it.’
“God understands its way, And He knows its place. “For He looks to the ends of the earth And sees everything under the heavens. “When He imparted weight to the wind And meted out the waters by measure, When He set a limit for the rain And a course for the thunderbolt, Then He saw it and declared it; He established it and also searched it out. “And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.’” — Job 28:12-28
