Oh that my ways may be established (steadfast) To keep (obey)Your statutes (decrees, laws)! Then I shall not be ashamed When I look upon all Your commandments. Psalms 119:5-6 NASB
How do we obey God’s statutes? When we know His commandments and keep them. How do we know them? You must open the word of God and read. Open the word of God and know. Then we obey them.
🌹 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. John 14:23-24 NASB
but you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven; . . . and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which do not see, hear or understand. But the God in whose hand are your life-breath and all your ways, you have not glorified. Daniel 5:23 NASB
King Belshazzar saw the writing on the wall and that night his life was taken. He had gone too far defaming the name of God.
He trusted in his own ability and ways. He was secure in his own fun and games with absolutely no regard to the things of God.
🌹Is God glorified in your life? Are you aware that He is your very life-breath and all your ways?
🌹Don’t wait until you see the writing on your wall. Turn to God (repent) and seek His forgiveness, truth and way. Let Him breathe new life into you for His glory.
They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” — Genesis 11:4
So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city. — Genesis 11:8
Ironic isn’t it that God has a plan but we always think that our plan is better. God has a purpose and it will come about.
How much time do you take in seeking the Lord’s counsel before you “do” for the Lord? I’m not talking about the daily service to our brothers and sisters which comes as part of our daily walk but about that “grandiose” thing “we” want to do for the Lord. We would save so much time and trouble if only we would seek His counsel before we start a project in His name.
