Peacemaker Pt. 2

Yesterday’s devotion was regarding abiding in Christ, the Holy Spirit living in us. By faith a person is saved, justified, and thereby we have peace with God.

‭But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

A child of God is a peacemaker.

So, what is the responsibility of a peacemaker?

To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”

The peacemaker spreads the “Gospel of Peace”.

For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,

Blessed Are The Poor in Spirit

Believer, you are sealed in Jesus with the Holy Spirit of promise. Being a believer you are a disciple of Christ. Being a disciple of Christ comes with blessings.

Are You A Child of God?

What a blessing to be called a child of God by simply receiving and believing in Jesus Christ.

The Blind Shall See.

‭‭Jesus, in the synagogue on the Sabbath, read from the Book of Isaiah:

The Old Testament book of Isaiah is speaking of Jesus. He will come to open the eyes of the blind.

Jesus was in the Old Testament, in the New Testament and still is. He always was and always will be. Jesus came to open blind eyes to enable sinners to see the glory of God through salvation.

Rejection

At church yesterday, during our Sunday School time, we were discussing evangelism and some of the reasons why we don’t share the gospel. The subject came up of the feeling of rejection – from a nice “not interested” to a feeling that you’ve just been slapped in the face. Well, studying and looking for a devotion to write I came across these verses:

“The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”

Wow! Did you catch that? We are called, all believers, to share the gospel and if we are rejected, it is not us who are being rejected but the One who sent us, Jesus, and the One who sent Jesus, the Father. The good news is if they receive the gospel message we share they receive Jesus who sent us to share. If they receive Jesus as their Savior and Lord, they receive also the Father.

God is so amazing!! He knows our hearts and thoughts so well. Can I just say again how amazing God is?

The light of Jesus is given to every believer saved by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

That light is not to be put in a cellar, under a basket nor container*¹, nor under a bed*². The light is to give light to all who enter, to all in the house*³.

The light is not for the believer alone, it is to be shared with, given to others.
Jesus is the Light that shines through an obedient, following believer. Your eye is the light to your body.

‭‭to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’

The Potter-Day 3

As the Potter’s wheel spins, the Potter shapes the clay. With His hands He designs the vessel into the purpose He is designing it for.

But now, O Lord, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.

In the process of transformation the walls become thin and there is space for filling. As we become less in this transformation we become just what God has designed for us to be.
He must increase, but I must decrease.

As Christians we are filled with the Holy Spirit. By His power we are able to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ! Let us decrease so God’s influence will increase to His glory and purpose.
