Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.

Do you have a gentle spirit? Have you ever thought about where a gentle spirit comes from?

‭Your adornment must not be merely external . . . but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

A gentle spirit comes from Jesus. The imperishable and gentle quiet spirit is the Holy Spirit that resides in a saved person. Precious in the sight of God is the reflection of the Father’s Son, Jesus, in us. Surrendering our whole heart to God will transform us into a gentle spirited person.

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

But We Have. . .

For to us God revealed them (all that God has prepared for those who love Him) through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.
For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual (or non-spiritual) thoughts with spiritual words.
But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.
For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are Your judgments and unfathomable Your ways! For who has known Your mind, Lord, or who became Your counselor? 
You have granted us to know the mysteries of Your kingdom, God.
For to Your own You have revealed all that has been prepared for us by way of Your Holy Spirit through Christ. For from Jesus and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

I thank You, God, for I have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear, but I have received a spirit of adoption as Your child by which I cry out, “Abba! Father!”                     God, I pray my message and proclamation of You in my life is a demonstration of the Spirit and of power. For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Thank You Father for the mind of Christ made available through the Holy Spirit to the glory of God! Amen

What Do You Possess?

But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-walk!” Acts 3:6 NASB

Peter encountered an invalid lying on the ground. He had no real material things to offer him and if he did what benefit would it have been to this man? This man would be satisfied for the moment but the next day he would be right back where he encountered Peter. What do you possess that you can offer to someone in need? Something beyond the physical.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God; and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.                      Acts 3:9‭-‬10 NASB

What Peter gave was far beyond the physical even though it was manifested in the physical. When God transforms a person people take notice. And the gospel can be proclaimed.

And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.     Acts 3:16 NASB

🌹What do you possess? The Holy Spirit.

🌹What can you offer? Your testimony of faith and of experiencing God.

P.S. I am not saying you should not meet the physical but don’t neglect the spiritual for only the physical.

For I am God and not man, the Holy One in your midst, And I will not come in wrath. (Hosea 11:9b) Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it. (Deuteronomy 10:14) Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments; (Deuteronomy 7:9) For the Lord your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them. To you it was shown that you might know that the Lord, He is God; there is no other besides Him. (Deuteronomy 4:35) For the Lord your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe. (Deuteronomy 10:17) “Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live. (Deuteronomy 30:6) Now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, (Deuteronomy 10:12)
