This verse brought back memories of Christmas time in Arizona while raising our kids. There was this one neighborhood where luminaries would line the street and driveways of the homes. There would be a slow procession of cars, with the lights of their vehicle off, driving through the neighborhood. These luminaries drew crowds out of the darkness of night.
In the same manner we are to be light to the crooked and perverse peoples of our generation. Drawing them out of darkness to the marvelous Light of Christ.

From Beginning to End
God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. The first day of creation God said, “Let there be light”, Genesis 1:3. God separated the light from the darkness.
In verses 16 and 19, God created the sun, moon and stars on the 4th day.Â

So what was this light that God spoke and said that it was good on the first day of creation? Well turn from the beginning of God’s word, Genesis, to the end of His word, Revelation.
And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.                  Revelation 21:23â€-‬27 NASB

The glory of the Lord! The Lamb of God. Heaven will have no darkness. Only the Light of God.
O the things we have to look forward to as the faithful children of God. . .
