Philippians 3:15-16

Let us therefore, as many as are perfect (mature), have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; however, let us keep living (following  in line) by that same standard to which we have attained.
Philippians 3:15‭-‬16 NASB

Perfect, Holy God I confess that my attitude has not always been to press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Father, reveal to me any attitude that is different from Your upward calling. I want to be mature so I can be perfect as You are perfect. May my life follow in line with Your standard, Lord. I thank You, God, for the blessing and privilege of speaking wisdom among others that are also mature; a wisdom not of this world, for we are not of this world, nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. Fill me Father with Your Spirit; teach me wisdom Holy Spirit so spiritual thoughts will bring about spiritual words of honor, glory and praise to Your perfect, holy name. Amen.
Philippians 3:14/Matthew 5:48/1 Corinthians 2:6/1 Corinthians 2:12‭-‬13 NASB

🌹I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.
Ephesians 1:17 NASB

Are You Ready?

Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full; The vats overflow, for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
Joel 3:13‭-‬14 NASB

Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.” Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.
Revelation 14:14‭-‬16 NASB

And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. Then another angel, the one who has power over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.” So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into the great wine press of the wrath of God.
Revelation 14:17‭-‬19 NASB

Blow a trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm on My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, For the day of the Lord is coming; Surely it is near,
Joel 2:1 NASB

Are you ready? The valley of decision is now. The harvest is coming.

🌹Worship the Lord in holy attire; Tremble before Him, all the earth.

Revelation 22:12 NASB

“I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.
Jeremiah 17:10 NASB

For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds.

The Church

Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation. One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church. So also you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church. 1 Corinthians 14:1‭, ‬3‭-‬4‭, ‬12 NASB

Prophesy: to speak as a mediator between God and humankind or in God’s stead.

But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you. 1 Corinthians 14:24‭-‬25 NASB

What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 1 Corinthians 14:26 NASB

🌹 The Church: Body of believers gathered to love, edify, advise, discuss with one another.

Results: The conviction and salvation of the unbeliever through the unity of the body’s prophesy. Edification of the church as we share with one another a psalm, a teaching, a revelation.

For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted; for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:31‭, ‬33 NASB

Redeemed Ambassadors

And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me.

He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me.

I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.

If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.

For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.

I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”

John 12:44‭-‬50 NASB

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth;  knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

1 Peter 1:13‭, ‬17‭-‬19 NASB

🌹Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.  Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:18‭-‬20 NASB

🙏 Jesus, our perfect example, help us to rely on Your word, Your Holy Spirit, and our hope found in You to be Your ambassadors of reconciliation to the lost of the world.

Elijah, Prophet of God

Elijah, a prophet sent by God, to warn and restore the Isaraelites devotion to God instead of Baal. In 1 Kings 18 is the testimony of the two altars where the priests of Baal, 450, and Elijah, the lone prophet of God, met to sacrifice to their respective God/god to reveal who was truly God.

One of my favorite stories. You should read if you are not familiar with it.

After this event . . .

Now Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” And he was afraid and arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers.”
1 Kings 19:1‭-‬4 NASB

This great revelation of God in Elijah’s life, to see the power and faithfulness of God, was overshadowed by fear of what Jezebel promised to do to him.

Haven’t we been there? We let the events of the world, the fear for our own livelihood overshadow the work of God and the Holy Spirit through us. God calls all His children to be the voice piece of His gospel. When called we must stand firm in the hope and power of our God.

Well, God also will not allow us to wallow long in our disobedience- running from His calling to share the gospel – before He gets our attention.

Through an angel God provided Elijah with the necessary strength to go on a journey to meet with God.

Then he came there to a cave and lodged there; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
1 Kings 19:9 NASB

Have you heard this before? A simple question. “What are you doing here?”

Elijah had his excuse all ready:

He said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts; for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”
1 Kings 19:10 NASB

He wasn’t really listening to God. His fear for his life was greater than his fear of God.

But God was about to get his attention.

So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.
1 Kings 19:11‭-‬12 NASB

God sent a mighty wind, an earthquake and fire. When God had Elijah’s attention He then spoke in a gentle whisper (blowing).

Aren’t we just like Elijah? Look around you.  Are you living in fear or in the safety of your obedience to God?

🌹Is He trying to get our attention so we can hear His gentle whisper?

In Jesus Only

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;
John 5:39 NASB

From Genesis to Revelation is the testimony  and revelation of Jesus Christ. He was in the beginning at the creation. He is present in all the Scriptures revealing His character, His plan, His redemptive power, the revelation of His manifestation as a man walking the earth. His death, resurrection and return one day to usher His saints into eternity.

In Jesus Christ alone is salvation and eternal life.

🌹Do you want to know Him? Do you want a deep personal walk with Jesus, walk in His footsteps? Open the word of God and search the Scriptures for they testify of Him.

From Beginning to End

God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.                                                 Genesis 1:16-‬19 NASB

God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.
Genesis 1:16

There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.                    Genesis 1:19

The first day of creation God said, “Let there be light”, Genesis 1:3. God separated the light from the darkness.

In verses 16 and 19, God created the sun, moon and stars on the 4th day.
(Thank you Shellie for sharing this revelation).

So what was this light that God spoke and said that it was good on the first day of creation? Well turn from the beginning of God’s word, Genesis, to the end of His word, Revelation.

And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.                   Revelation 21:23‭-‬27 NASB

“the people who were sitting in darkness  saw a great light, and those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death, upon them a light dawned.”                                              Mark 4:16

The glory of the Lord! The Lamb of God. Heaven will have no darkness. Only the Light of God.

O the things we have to look forward to as the faithful children of God. . .

“No longer will you have the sun for light by day, Nor for brightness will the moon give you light; But you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, And your God for your glory. “Your sun will no longer set, Nor will your moon wane; For you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, And the days of your mourning will be over.                                                    Isaiah 60:19‭-‬20 NASB

And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.                                            Revelation 22:5 NASB

Our Abode

“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”. . . Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.”              John 14:21‭, ‬23 NASB

What wonderful words, “We (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) will come to him (me) and make Our (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) abode (residence; dwelling; habitation; home) with him (me).

God making His dwelling place, His residence, His home in us. Wow!!!

BUT. . . there is a stipulation. If we love Him.

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:15 NASB

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.”           1 John 5:3 NASB

“And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.”                           2 John 1:6 NASB

We must be obedient to God. How can we be obedient to Him if we don’t know how? He makes Himself and His will known in His word. We have to open the word of God and read it under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Every chance you get to read and apply God’s word will open the door for His appearance in your life.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”                      Revelation 3:20 NASB

Feast upon His word and hold fast to the promises He gives us.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death.”                        John 8:51 NASB

The word opens the door to the presence of God indwelling in you. Obedience to God’s word brings promise and the love of God that will overflow to the world around you as they see you walking in His commandments.

Strive for the perfection that can only be found in God.

“but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
1 John 2:5‭-‬6 NASB

🌹Walk as Jesus walked.

Words Of My Mouth

Who gave Jacob up for spoil, and Israel to plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, And in whose ways they were not willing to walk, And whose law they did not obey? So He poured out on him the heat of His anger And the fierceness of battle; And it set him aflame all around, Yet he did not recognize it; And it burned him, but he paid no attention.
Isaiah 42:24‭-‬25 NASB

Because lawlessness is increased,  most people’s love will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

God does not take lawlessness lightly. He has called His saints to be holy. He has called His saints to be upright, obeying the law. He has called us to be light to the darkness of the world. He has called us to freedom in Him.

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.  Galatians 5:13

My heart is so heavily burdened with the response of “God’s people” to the events happening in the world today. We are so self focused, worried about ourselves and the injustices we see all around us. Making known our own opinions about what is right in our own eyes. Taking our freedom of speech so far as to bring dishonor to God’s name.

I believe God is using the events of today to call His people back to Him. To repent of our sin, the greatest of which is:

But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:4

🌹Repent. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words to bring life to the unsaved and glory to God.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
