What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— 1 John 1:1 NASB
🌹Jesus, Word of God. The Word who was from the beginning. The God of Life who is the Light unto mankind. You are the Word of Life. Jesus, You are before all things, and in You all things hold together. Lord God, may I never stop speaking about what I have heard from Your word and seen of Your life changing presence in my life. Jesus, the Word become flesh, dwelling among Your creation, showing Your glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. As Your child, I pray, I will testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world so that others will not be unbelieving, but believing as Thomas was when he reached with his finger to Jesus’s hand and reached his hand to the Savior’s wounded side. Jesus, You truly are the Word of Life. Praise and glory to Your name for coming to save mankind from the destruction of sin through Your sacrifice for our salvation. Amen. John 1:1/John 1:4/Colossians 1:17/Acts 4:20/John 1:14/1 John 4:14/John 20:27 NASB
Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved. I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony (be of the same mind) in the Lord. Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. Philippians 4:1-3 NASB
🌹God, You are my rock, my solid ground, my firm foundation. In You I stand firm. Thank You for godly people in my life that encourage me in the faith. As we stand together firm, in You our Lord, may we be of the same mind, that is the mind of Christ, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose; conducting ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. God, may we be a blessing and example to others as we stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel! All to the glory of Your name and Sovereign plan to one day gather all Your saints that are written in the book of life recorded in heaven. Amen. Philippians 2:2/1 Corinthians 2:16/Philippians 1:27/Luke 10:20 NASB
Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove (become) yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear (shine) as lights (luminaries, stars) in the world, holding fast (forth) the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
Philippians 2:14-16 NASB
Glorious God, may I find reason to glory because I did not run this race of life in vain nor toil in vain. Forgive me of my grumbling or when I dispute because it brings dishonor to You. Transform me into a blameless and innocent child of Yours, above reproach in this perverse and crooked world that acts corruptly toward You, for they are not Your children but are a perverse and crooked generation. Lord God, may I be found righteous in Your sight, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of Your word, Lord. God, as Your beloved child, help me to imitate You by walking in love, just as Christ also loved me and gave Himself up for us all, an offering and a sacrifice to You, Lord God, as a fragrant aroma. And God I pray I will solemly testify and keep on exhorting, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” For and to the glory of God, in the name of Jesus, amen. Deuteronomy 32:5/Luke 1:6/Ephesians 5:1-2/Acts 2:40
🌹“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 NASB
Do all things without grumbling or disputing;so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did notrun in vain nor toil in vain. — Galatians 2:14-16
Where are your priorities, your heart? Is it on crossing the finish line in the glory of Christ or grumbling your way through life focused on winning the next dispute?
Do you not know that you are the light of the world? (Matthew 5:14) A light to those who walk in darkness? (Romans 2:19)
How we walk this life will reveal to the world who we believe Jesus to be. We are an open book hopefully revealing Christ as Savior, Light, Love, Joy, Prince of peace, Patient, Kind, Good, and Faithful. In our life we can be ambassadors for Christ or silent witnesses. Our choice.
We can be successful in crossing the finish line in glory by holding fast to the Word of life. So how’s your book of life revealing Jesus Christ? Is it?
