What Will You Do Without Him

This is a testimony of truth. It speaks my heart.

birdchirp's avatarRedbird's Roost

I could not do without Him!
Jesus is more to me
Than all the richest, fairest gifts
Of earth could ever be.
But the more I find Him precious–
And the more I find Him true–
The more I long for you to find
What He can be to you.

Ways of the Lord

Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;

Whoever is discerning, let him know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
And the righteous will walk in them,
But transgressors will stumble in them. — Hosea 14:9

Are you stumbling along through life? Seek Jesus and walk in His righteousness. He leads on a well lit path of discernment and wisdom.

Luxuriant Cypress

O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols?
It is I who answer and look after you.
I am like a luxuriant cypress;
From Me comes your fruit. — Hosea 14:8

Want to be fruitful, have someone looking over you (protection, best interest, etc.), and who answers you? Turn to the One who cares, loves, and knows all things. No idol in your life can do that.

Are you seeking the God who is waiting to be your ALL?

Old Testament Salvation

Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God,

For you have stumbled because of your iniquity.
Take words with you and return to the Lord.
Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity
And receive us graciously,
That we may present the fruit of our lips.
“Assyria will not save us,
We will not ride on horses;
Nor will we say again, ‘Our god,’
To the work of our hands;
For in You the orphan finds mercy.” — Hosea 14:1-3

I love God’s Word. The salvation message right here in this Old Testament book.

Turn to God: return to the Lord your God.
Turn (repent) from our sin: “take words with you and return to the Lord”
Confess: “Say to Him, ‘take away all iniquity”
Receive His grace: “receive us graciously”
Bring God praises and tell others of His saving grace: “That we may present the fruit of our lips”
And trust in Him alone, not ourselves nor others: “Assyria will not save us, we will not ride on horses; nor will we say again, ‘Our god’, to the work of our hands;

Thank You Lord God that this orphan, me, has found Your mercy. Have you found God’s mercy and received His grace? He calls you from the pages of His Word, even in the Old Testament.

Continually seeking Him,

Destruction or Help

It is your destruction, O Israel,
That you are against Me, against your help. –Hosea 13:9

Most people will agree that “Life is hard”. Some see more hardships than others. Some blame God thinking they deserve blessing but only see hardship. Sin has brought the hardships. I believe some hardships come to get our attention, some bring the growth of perseverance and trust in the Lord, and some is for discipline, consequences for our actions.

Some stay away, run from, deny Christ because “He hasn’t blessed me, given me anything”. Denial of God is definitely denying our help in life. God’s help.

Evaluation time. . . Are hardships you are experiencing now –God trying to get your attention, trials that are growing you or are you denying God?

God is our help in times of trouble. Are you seeking Him?

Continually seeking Him,

Only One

Yet I have been the Lord your God
Since the land of Egypt;
And you were not to know any god except Me,
For there is no savior besides Me.
I cared for you in the wilderness,
In the land of drought.
As they had their pasture, they became satisfied,
And being satisfied, their heart became proud;
Therefore they forgot Me. — Hosea 13:4-6

There is no good satisfaction other than God alone. The God of Israel. Savior of all.

Where are you seeking your satisfaction?

Praise, Sing, Worship Together

Praise the Lord!

Sing to the Lord a new song,
And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. — Psalm 149:1

Hope that this day finds you gathered with the saints in worshipful praise to our Lord.

Continually seeking Him,

Sharon

That IF

that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. — Romans 10:9-10

Have you?

PSALMS 86:15 (SLOW TO ANGER)

Rebecca Burtram's avatarTHE RIVER WALK

slow to anger

But you, O Lord, are a a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. (Psalms 86:15 NLT)

Read: Joshua 15, Luke 18:18-43, Psalms 86:1-17, Proverbs 13:9-10

Relate: Some people are angry at God…I mean really angry. Why? They were hurt. Maybe I’m talking about you. Maybe you were hurt, and God didn’t stop the hurt from coming. I’ve been there. We may clench our teeth and say in our hearts, “How dare he stand there in all his power and allow us to suffer!” We rage and rave shaking our fists in righteous indignation. We scream to the heavens, and we say, “Where were you? You failed me. We have all felt the sting of living: betrayal, divorce, financial struggles, abuse, death, etc. etc. etc. The world is teeming and spilling over with damaged and broken people-people whose hearts are wounded- and some of…

Does God Care?

birdchirp's avatarRedbird's Roost

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (NASB)
It would be one thing if God sat on His throne safe in Heaven, immune from all suffering while He watched us in agony on earth. Some might feel justified in accusing Him of not caring. But that is not the case. For one thing, we must understand that our suffering causes Him grief. We understand this, because we hurt when someone we loves hurts. God was so moved by our suffering that He sent His Son to suffer in our place. Do we grieve when innocent children are abused by wicked men? So did God grieve when His innocent Son was abused by wicked men. Yet He knew this suffering was necessary in order to deliver us from eternal suffering.
