For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:6-8 NASB
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Galatians 6:8 NASB
for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13 NASB
🌹Where is your mindset? What are you reaping? It’s a life or death choice whether to please God.
Then this Daniel began distinguishing himself among the commissioners and satraps because he possessed an extraordinary spirit, and the king planned to appoint him over the entire kingdom. Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or evidence of corruption, inasmuch as he was faithful, and no negligence or corruption was to be found in him. Then these men said, “We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God.” Daniel 6:3-5 NASB
“We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God.”
Today’s religion is often taken lightly in the sin department. “God is a forgiving God.” “Jesus died for my sins – past, present and future.” Although these are true it is so much more.
We tend to think that a little lie is okay, talking about others, or speeding over 5 is alright. But sin is sin. No such thing as a little sin versus a big sin. Sin is disobedience against God.
Here Daniel was displaying himself as a child of God who wanted to bring honor and glory to his God. He was obedient to God which overflowed into his personal life.
🌹O that we walked in such a way that there would not be found any negligence or corruption in us. That we would display an extraordinary Spirit. The Spirit of God Himself in us for all the world to see.
Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence.God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. — Genesis 6:11-12
Is this what God sees today? The last time God beheld earth this way, He destroyed all flesh with a flood (except for Noah, and his family, because He was found righteous in God’s eyes). Will you be found or are you righteous in God’s eyes?
Admit that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness. Believe that Jesus, the Son of God, is that Savior who grants forgiveness. Believe that He died on the cross for you, was buried and three days later rose from the dead. Then confess that Jesus is Lord and follow Him.
By His blood you can be clothed in righteousness. What’s stopping you?
