Pray For Peace

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
“May peace be within your walls,
And prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brothers and my friends,
I will now say, “May peace be within you.”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,

I will seek your good. — Psalm 122:6-9

The Calm In The Storm

And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. — Matthew 8:24

Jesus Himself was asleep. Wow!!! What confidence He had in the Father. What peace He had in the Father. What a witness to us of where our trust must lie in the midst of the storm.

Where do you find your calm in the storm?

Can You Hear Him?

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to  Cephas, then to the twelve. — 1 Corinthians 15:3-5

that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be  disappointed.” — Romans 10:9-11

Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. — Isaiah 30:21

Do you believe? Have you confessed? Are you walking your journey of life with your guide Jesus directing you “This is the way, walk in it”?

If not, why not? Know Jesus. Know peace.

Continually seeking Him,

Sharon

Peace

And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. — James 3:18

And the work of righteousness will be peace,
And the service of righteousness,  quietness and confidence forever. — Isaiah 32:17

Sow with a view to righteousness,
Reap in accordance with kindness;
Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the Lord
Until He comes to rain righteousness on you. — Hosea 10:12

having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. — Philippians 1:11

Peace comes through Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Seek Him and His righteousness will be your peace. That peace sows peace.

A Moment in the Garden

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. — Genesis 2:1

The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. — Genesis 2:8

Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four rivers. — Genesis 4:10

What a perfect ending to a week of vacation. What a perfect beginning to a new week. I woke up this morning and as I stepped out onto my porch the sun was just beginning to rise, the brook behind my house was running after the rainstorm last night, and the birds were just singing praises to the Lord. For a moment everything was right with the world. (I actually recorded a minute and 40 seconds of listening to all the beautiful sounds of creation but I unfortunately don’t know how to get that on to this website).

I thank God today for His beautiful creation and for electronics that allow me, at any time, to go back to the garden and know the tranquility, peace, contentment and presence of God, even if it is only for a moment.

I thank God for making His presence known to me this new day. May you experience a moment in the Garden and know the God who created it.

God of Peace

Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. — Romans 15:33

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. — 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all! — 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now the God of peace, who  brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. — Hebrews 13:20-21

God Of Hope

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. — Romans 15:13

Pay Backs, Vengeance and Burning Coals

Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but  leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. — Romans 12:17-21

Are you an overcomer?

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? — 1 John 5:4-5

The Big “If”

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. — Romans 8:14-17

Lots of blessings and assurance in these verses, but what about the “if”? “If indeed we suffer with Him”?

Lately my heart has been so burdened for the”lost”. I have shed tears for family, friends, neighbors, people living in the USA and around the world. As I watch the news, read posts on Facebook and interact with the world around me I see such a great need. There is only one answer — Jesus Christ. Are you seeking peace? Jesus is the Prince of peace. I could go on and on about all the answers to questions that can be answered in the Word of God but they ultimately all lead to Jesus.

The real issue here is are you suffering with Christ in your daily walk? Are you stepping out of your comfort zone to share the gospel with a neighbor, co-worker etc.? Are you willing to pray for your government leaders instead of posting their dirty laundry? Are you willing to stand up and be heard for the sake of Christ and His purpose in the world — to be glorified and bring salvation to all mankind? Does the Way, the Truth and the Life flow from your mouth with life saving scripture despite the ridicule that may come?

I am convicted as I write these words. Am I suffering with Him for His glory and the hope of mankind? What “if” I did?

My soul, my soul! I am in anguish! Oh, my heart!
My heart is pounding in me;
I cannot be silent,
Because you have heard, O my soul,
The sound of the trumpet,
The alarm of war.
20 Disaster on disaster is proclaimed,
For the whole land is devastated;
Suddenly my tents are devastated,
My curtains in an instant.
21 How long must I see the standard
And hear the sound of the trumpet?
22 “For My people are foolish,
They know Me not;
They are stupid children
And have no understanding.
They are shrewd to do evil,
But to do good they do not know.” — Jeremiah 4:19-22

Death or Life?

For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. — Romans 8:5-8

Where is your mind focused? Death or life and peace? Flesh or Jesus Christ?
