Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. — Acts 4:13
Were they really uneducated or was that in the perspective of the religious leaders? They had not been schooled by the religious leaders of the day but they were educated by the Master. Are you being educated by the Master, Jesus Christ? Are you recognized as having been with Jesus? Do you have confidence that only comes from time spent with the Savior?
I truly believe my confidence comes from time spent with Jesus who opens my eyes to the work He is doing in me and others. When I see all His glorious works, well, I am just like Peter and John:
forwe cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.” — Acts 4:20
Have a blessed day in the Lord and tell of His saving grace with confidence.
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to theknowledge of the truth. — 1 Timothy 2:1-3
Yesterday’s devotional spoke of obeying, submitting authority to our leaders — politicians of our country. It told of the grumbling and verbal dissatisfaction we have with them. My question is (actually two) — Am I praying for my leaders? Am I being a good witness before men in my verbiage and actions toward the leaders of my country?
The problem with the world today is too much focus on what our world leaders are doing wrong instead of praying for them. The answer for a quiet and tranquil life? Jesus Christ. Salvation and knowledge of Him and in obedience He can change the condition of the hearts of world leaders, those in authority and even the hearts of those who vote.
The problem is not our politicians. The problem is we have left our first love and obedience to Him.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. — Romans 8:18
Would that be a heavenly perspective? When I consider the sufferings of this world compared to being in the presence of God Almighty, it pales a little. When I consider that the suffering of this world only lasts a blink compared to eternity of being in the glory of God, I strive to endure.
The sufferings of this life are only temporary for those who know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Life here and now is incomparable with the glory that is to be revealed to the children of God.
Are you suffering without hope? Is there no light at the end of your tunnel? Turn to Jesus who is the Light of the world and let Him give you a heavenly perspective as you seek Him.
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world.9 For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you,10 always in my prayers making request, if perhaps now at last by the will of God I may succeed in coming to you.11 For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established;12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine. — Romans 1:8-12
Do you get excited about God’s work? Do you get excited watching Christians grow in their faith? Do you desire to help and encourage other believers in their walk with Christ? Do you get encouraged to walk the straight and narrow by the testimony of the saints? Paul not only wanted to feed others but longed to be fed also.
We need more testimony of God’s movement in the lives of His saints. How is God moving in your life right now? If you can’t see, ask Him to reveal it to you and then share it! If you can see it, who can you encourage today by sharing it?
“Praise the glorious power of the Lord. He is wonderful! Praise him and bring an offering into his temple. Worship the Lord, majestic and holy.
1 Chronicles 16:28-29
Go tell it on the mountain, Jesus Christ is born. Come let us adore Him. Worthy of worship. Worthy of praise. Wonderful Counselor. Mighty God. Majesty, worship His majesty.
Hope your Christmas is filled with Jesus. May His name be spoken in your homes. May He be proclaimed in your neighborhood, church and workplace. May your one small voice make a difference to a dying world this Christmas. Christmas is Jesus, the Christ (Messiah) who came to save. Celebrate His marvelous gift!
‘I have placed You as a light for the Gentiles, That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’”
When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was being spread through the whole region. — Acts 13:47-49
Oh that we would be so excited about the Word of God! So excited as to rejoice and glorify His Word. So excited and joyful in our salvation that comes by the hearing of the Word. Are you hearing the Word proclaimed today?
As we hear the Word it will spread. Interesting that within the word “spread” is the word “read”. Today many gather to hear the Word proclaimed but tomorrow will you be reading the Word? What about the rest of the week?
Read daily and let the power of God’s Word spread through you to others that they may rejoice and glorify the Word, Jesus Christ.
