Love the Lord – Part 3

and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, — Mark 12:30

How do we love our Lord with all our soul? We need help because we are not able to love God on our own. Ezekiel 18:4 says, “Behold, all souls are Mine;”. Our souls belong to God. Because He is our God and our souls are His, our natural desire is to thirst and pant for Him.
He gives us the desire to cling to Him, to earnestly seek Him. As we seek Him our soul grows to love Him more and more. Seeking Him through His word it helps us to know Him and the more we know Him the more we love Him. In this we can rejoice and praise Him!!!
So seek Him earnestly through the word of God, prayer, and praise.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die.
Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Psalm 42:1-2 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?
Psalm 63:8 My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
Psalm 119:75 Let my soul live that it may praise You, And let Your ordinances help me.

3 John 1-4

The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth. Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this (these things, that I hear), to hear of my children walking in the truth.
3 John 1‭-‬4 NASB

Discipling…

Lord God, what a joy and privilege You have given Your children who walk in truth to love one another. Not to love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. Lord may I walk in truth, as You have commanded, in such a way that I demonstrate walking in truth to those I am discipling. I pray that I can teach new disciples to remind others of the way of Christ. God, I pray I will persevere in my labor until Jesus Christ is formed in those I have the privilege to disciple. Lord may I exhort, encourage, and implore these disciples as if they are my own children, that they would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls us into His own kingdom and glory. And God, my hope is to find these I disciple walking in truth, just as I have received commandment to do from You, Father. Use me Lord Jesus to bring glory to Your name. Amen.
1 John 3:18/2 John 4/1 Corinthians 4:14‭,16-17/Galatians 4:19/1 Thessalonians 2:11‭-‬12/2 John 4 NASB

The reason we disciple:
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
1 John 2:1‭-‬2 NASB

🌹For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.
1 Corinthians 4:20 NASB

I pray in all respects that you prosper and are in good health, just as your soul prospers. In Jesus name, amen.

Philippians 3:7

But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Philippians 3:7 NASB

God of overwhelming magnitude. With You eminate joy, peace, contentment, eternity, relevance, life, meaning, love, worth, my very soul. I choose You to follow, love and put You, Lord Jesus, above all others and myself. I deny myself before You and take up my cross and follow as Your disciple. My life has been crucified in You. All that I am is Yours. All that I have is Yours. I have calculated the cost Lord and I choose You!!! For Your sake, Lord Jesus, I give You my life. My life is in You. For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6 NASB

God who is faithful, the good work You have begun in me You will also confirm to the end, considering me blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have called me into fellowship with Your Son, Jesus Christ my Lord.

Love Enabled

And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?”  And he answered, “you shall love the  Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” Luke 10:25‭-‬28 NASB

Sounds easy. Does it? Is it?

“Love with all your heart.”

“The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9 NASB

Without the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in us, we are not capable to love the Lord with all our heart.

“Love the Lord with all your soul.”

The soul. The inner, spiritual part of us. We are not able to love with all our soul unless our soul is in communion with the soul of God Himself.

Moreover, I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject you. Leviticus 26:11 NASB

“Love the Lord with all your mind.”

But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. 2 Corinthians 3:14 NASB

Without Christ in us we are blind and unable to love God with all our mind.

“The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will extol Him. Exodus 15:2 NASB

We are weak without the Lord. He is our strength.

So how can we love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strenghth?

We need to know Him. Not of Him, but personally know Him.

How? Seek Him.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NASB

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  Matthew 6:33 NASB

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually. Psalms 105:4 NASB

Seeking God, you will find Him because He is love. His love, who He is, enables us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8 NASB

God’s Requirements

“Now, Israel (God’s people), what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? Deuteronomy 10:12-13 NASB

So circumcise your heart, and stiffen your neck no longer. For the Lord your God is the God of gods and the Lord of Lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe. Deuteronomy 10:16‭-‬17 NASB

You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name. He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen. Deuteronomy 10:20‭-‬21 NASB

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 1 Timothy 1:5 NASB

🌹So how is your walk going?

P. S. I guess there was a reason for my writer’s block this morning. My devotions are written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This morning my quiet time did not go as it usually does. As I read Deuteronomy 10:20 again, I realized the power of the Holy Spirit when I cling to Him. My quiet time is of utmost importance to fulfill His will and His way. When we walk with God on a daily basis He is always there for us, with us, revealing Himself for His purpose and His will. He is my praise and He is my God.

Hope you have a blessed day in the Lord.

God’s Grace

Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die. Ezekiel 18:4 NASB

The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself. “But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die. All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live.
Ezekiel 18:20‭-‬22 NASB

God created all people and their soul belongs to Him. God created us and just like Adam gave us freewill to follow or not to follow Him in obedience.

Each individual is responsible for their own sin. No blame can be placed upon upbringing, social class, nationality or any one thing or person but self alone.

We were created out of love and for the purpose of fulfilling God’s will. For that reason we need to seek God so that we may live.

For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord God . “Therefore, repent and live.”
Ezekiel 18:32 NASB

It is only by the grace of God that He offered His Son, Jesus, so that we may live in His righteousness. “Therefore, repent and live.”

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. Romans 8:10

🌹 If you need to know the grace of God, talk with a believer today.

🌹 If you are struggling in sin and disobedience, call out to God and repent of your sin and disobedience.
