“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.” John 10:11, 18 NASB
Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions (= 6000 troops) of angels? Matthew 26:53 NASB
Lord Jesus, I am astounded, bewildered, overwhelmed by your sacrifice for me. To know that at any time You could have put a halt to this senseless crime against You. But it wasn’t senseless to You. There was and still is a purpose in Your going to the cross. Jesus, burden my heart for the lost and may I follow in Your footsteps to surrender my will for the sake of the gospel – the salvation of the lost. I will take up my cross and follow You for the sake of the gospel and for Your namesake to the triumphant end. In Your glorious name I pray, amen.
🌹Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Philippians 2:8 NASB
Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38 NASB
Our compassionate, caring God sees the distressed and dispirited of this world. What is His desire? That these be reconciled to Him.
🌹Lord God I implore You to change the hearts of Your people to be harvesters for Your kingdom. Open our eyes to see these sheep in need of a Shepherd and open our mouths to speak truth by the power of Your Spirit.
My Justice My Eternity My Savior My Unity My Sustainer

None of these do I possess but by Your love and righteousness.
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. John 5:19 NASB
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NASB
If this man were not from God, He could do nothing.” John 9:33 NASB
