Faith: Soul Preserver

Jul8

But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result (by the deeds) of the works, faith was perfected (completed); and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.
James 2:20-23 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.2.20-23.NASB1995

The work of God is that we believe in Jesus. The gift of God is grace through faith.
John 6:29/Ephesians 2:8 NASB1995

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
James 2:17 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.2.17.NASB1995

🌹But My righteous one shall live by faith; And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

Walking in The Light of Life

May2

In God, whose word I praise,
In the Lord, whose word I praise,
In God I have put my trust (trust without fear),
I shall not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

For You have delivered my soul from death,
Indeed my feet from stumbling,
So that I may walk before God
In the light of the living (life).
Psalms 56:10-11, 13 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.56.10-13.NASB1995

🌹Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. For You have rescued my soul from death, My eyes from tears, My feet from stumbling. I shall walk before the Lord In the land of the living.

Waiting in Silence

Apr29

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.
Psalms 27:14 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.27.14.NASB1995

My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.
Psalms 62:1 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.62.1.NASB1995

“My soul waits in silence.” That’s hard for some of us, isn’t it? Waiting is hard enough, but in silence? Really?
But God. He is found in the stillness of our mind; in the openness of our heart, willing to receive a word from Him; in the silent waiting. Jesus is our continual salvation minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day.

Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
Psalms 33:20 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.33.20.NASB1995

I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.
Psalms 130:5 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/psa.130.5.NASB1995

🌹My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.

Priority Commandments

Mar24

And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment.

The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Matthew 22:37-39 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.22.37-39.NASB1995

Is the second commandment possible without the first? What is your thought? Is there Scripture to support your thought?

🌹There is no other commandment greater than these.”
