Endure To The Death?

Looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Christian Living

For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself;
Romans 14:7 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.14.7.NASB1995

and He (Jesus) died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
2 Corinthians 5:15 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/2co.5.15.NASB1995

Jesus sacrificed His life for us, Christian. Have we sacrificed our life for God’s purpose? Have we sacrificed our will for His will? Have we sacrificed our way to follow His way?

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Galatians 2:20 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/gal.2.20.NASB1995

🙏Lord God, I surrender my life to You for Your purpose. Your will. Your way. Help me to walk in Your Light that others may also submit to You for their salvation and the salvation of others. In the glorious name of Jesus I pray, amen.

The Source of Eternity

In the days of His flesh (during Christ’s earthly life), He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.
Hebrews 5:7 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.5.7.NASB1995

And He was saying, “Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.”
Mark 14:36 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mrk.14.36.NASB1995

Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.
Hebrews 5:8 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.5.8.NASB1995

Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:8 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/php.2.8.NASB1995

And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,
Hebrews 5:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.5.9.NASB1995

Have you met the Savior Jesus Christ?
His extreme love for humanity and love of the Father brought Him to earth. Jesus willingly gave His life as a sacrifice for you so you could have eternal salvation. Knowing God and walking with Jesus is assurance for life eternal. Trust Him today. Surrender your heart, your will, your way and Jesus will show you His will, His way, His truth as He leads you on the road to the promised land. Eternity with God. The choice is yours. The alternative is eternal Hell.

🙏 Lord, my heart breaks for the lost soul. I ask that You will open eyes, soften hearts, bring understanding and wisdom to the ones reading this who do not know You. I pray for the ones who do know you that their hearts would be broken for the lost and that you would give us opportunities to share especially as many celebrate Easter. Help us to bring the true meaning of Easter into the lives of our neighbors. For Your glory and in the name of Jesus, our Savior, I pray. Amen.

Different Living

How am I different with Christ living in me?

It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
2 Timothy 2:11 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/2ti.2.11.NASB1995

. . . so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:11 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.6.11.NASB1995

knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.
Romans 6:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.6.9.NASB1995

knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
Romans 6:6 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/rom.6.9.NASB1995

🌹Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Jesus Came To Save

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.3.16.NASB1995

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:17-18 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.3.17-18.NASB1995

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Do Not Be Deceived

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
James 1:13-15 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.1.13-15.NASB1995

Lust: an intense desire, craving, yearning for . . . our own way; our desire; craving the things of this world instead of God’s kingdom.

Seeking our own desires is lust. When our lust is played out it becomes sin and if our sin is not dealt with, our sin will lead to death.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?
1 Corinthians 6:9a NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1co.6.9.NASB1995

They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity, And their mind prepares deception.”
Job 15:35 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/job.15.35.NASB1995

🌹As born-again Christians we are to confess the lusts of our heart, before it turns into a sin, then be seeking God’s kingdom and His desire for us.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

What Are You Pursuing?

But the brother (church member) of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;
James 1:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.1.9.NASB1995

What “high position” is that? It is not our social status, but that we are a child of God, an heir. Are we taking great delight in our high position, living in His glory?

and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass (the flower of the grass) he will pass away.
James 1:10 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.1.10.NASB1995

Just as the man of “humble circumstances” will pass away, so will the rich man. His humiliation is to know that he is a sinner and without Christ, the only thing he is worthy of is eternal death. Without Jesus we are all dead. The pursuit of God should outweigh the pursuit of wealth, fame, comfort in this life.

For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.
James 1:11 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.1.11.NASB1995

🌹What, or should I say, ‘Who are we pursuing’ this side of eternity?

Remember: Your Choice

Free will:
I either choose to do my will or God’s will.
I choose to obey or disobey commandments.
I choose to follow God’s way or my way.
I choose to believe God’s truth or the world’s (my own self made) truth.
I choose to live for Jesus or for myself.
I choose God’s will or my will.

In the Garden, Jesus chose the Father’s will,

saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”
Luke 22:42 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.22.42.NASB1995

Walking with Jesus is letting Him lead. It’s letting God show us the way so we may fulfill His purpose in us and through us. Submission to His will is allowing us to partake in His grand plan for mankind . . . life, peace, eternal blessings, love and joy. It’s to live eternally with no sin, no pain, no anguish, no fighting, no war, etc.

Your choice.
A lifetime of anguish and pain now – doing God’s will and a peaceful, perfect eternity with no anguish;
OR
Your will now that continues the anguish of sin for eternity.

Will you let God have His way in you?

for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
Philippians 2:13 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/php.2.13.NASB1995

Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
John 4:34 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.4.34.NASB1995

🌹Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
