Before Creation

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
John 17:5 NASB

Jesus knew His mission before He ever left His heavenly throne, yet He came anyway. He came for the Father, in obedience. He came for you and me out of His abundant love. Jesus came to reconcile the Father to His creation. He came that we may know His glory and share in it.

The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
John 17:22‭, ‬24 NASB

Remembering the glory with the Father that was before creation began. Before Jesus would leave heaven and come to earth. That is our hope, that we may know and share in the glory that Jesus knew before He left His place with the Father.

🌹What a sacrifice. What abundant love. What a hope we have in Jesus. Are you living/walking in His glory now?

Joy

You, O Lord, rule forever; Your throne is from generation to generation. Lamentations 5:19 NASB

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows.
Psalms 45:6‭-‬7 NASB

Are you anointed with the oil of joy?

There is much joy to be found in knowing God is eternally seated on His throne. Our God who rules in righteousness and justice and love.

On awakening this morning and checking on the hurricane hitting the Louisiana and Texas coast, I read “this could have been so much worse”. Were you praying for the people in the path of this storm? God answered prayer. It may not have been the way we wanted but it was better than expected. Did you thank Him for His mercy in this situation?

As numbers seem to be rising in Covid cases, are you turning to, relying on the One who sits upon the eternal throne? God has this. Are you abiding in His strong tower? Is He your refuge?

But You, O Lord, abide forever, And Your name to all generations.
Psalms 102:12 NASB

God is your only hope in a world seeking their own way, truth and life. Jesus is the only way, truth and life and no one comes to the throne of the Father but by Him. Can you rejoice in that? Can you enter into the Holy of holies and bow before the throne? If not it is time to bow down in surrender to God and His will. That is where real joy is found even when everything around you is falling down.

“But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end.
Psalms 102:27 NASB

Hallelujah!

🌹The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Holy, Holy, Holy

The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake! The Lord is great in Zion, And He is exalted above all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He. Exalt the Lord our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He. Exalt the Lord our God And worship at His holy hill, For holy is the Lord our God. Psalms 99:1‭-‬3‭, ‬5‭, ‬9 NASB

God reigns. He is on His throne. He is exalted above all the peoples whether we believe or acknowledge it as so.

Reality check. God is holy, whether we believe it or not.

What should be our response to these facts?

Let us praise His great and awesome name.
Exalt the Lord our God and worship Him.

FOR HE IS HOLY!!

🌹How will you respond to God’s holiness today?

Throne of Grace

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. — Hebrews 4:16

“Draw near with confidence to the throne of grace”. We can approach the throne of grace boldly with confidence, not because of us but because of Jesus Christ Himself, the High Priest who can “sympathize with our weakness, One who has been tempted in all things” just like we have except that He is “without sin”.

Jesus understands every moment of our lives, whatever we are experiencing. He has experienced the human pit falls of life, the challenges, the temptations, the sorrows, the pain. But He also experienced the joy, the friendships, the relationships of family. He is our wonderful Counselor. One who can truly counsel from experience. There is nothing that we could go through that Jesus does not relate to.

In His presence we find grace to carry on in our time of need. He gives all we need to continue on because He is our strength, our grace, our endurance. Without Jesus we face difficulties in life with despair and failure. With Jesus we face difficulties in life with hope and victory.

Jesus is sufficient.
