Philippians 3:8

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,
Philippians 3:8 NASB

With all praise and glory I lift up my hands to You Jesus, my Redeemer, Savior, Lord. Thank You for the privilege to know You; for Your word is where I reap the essence of who You are and grow in knowledge and wisdom of my glorious God who loves me.
Lord, as You said, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches;” I pray if I boast of anything, that I boast that I understand and know You, that You are the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for You delight in these things.”
God grant me Your grace and may peace be multiplied to me in the knowledge of You, Father, and of Jesus my Lord; seeing that Your divine power has granted to me everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of You who called me by Your own glory and excellence. God I long to know You deeply and sincerely. In all wisdom and insight You made known to me the mystery of Your will, according to Your kind intention which You, Father, purposed in Jesus who is given as a pledge of my inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.
God of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of glory,  give to me a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened, so that I will know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of Your power toward me who believes. These requests I pray in the name and to the glory of Jesus Christ, amen.
Jeremiah 9:23‭-‬24/2 Peter 1:2-3/Ephesians 1:8‭-‬9‭, ‬14‭, ‬17‭-‬19a NASB

🌹This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Redeemer

As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Job 19:25 NASB

Most High God, my Redeemer, I acknowledge that You are my rock. Even now, Jesus is my witness who is in heaven, and my advocate on high. You are my strong Redeemer who will vigorously plead my case against those who try to rob my soul. I have bore Your indignation because I have sinned against You. Thank You, Jesus, for pleading my case before the Father and executing justice for me. You have brought me out to the light to  see Your righteousness. My heart faints within me longing for the day when I myself shall behold, And my eyes will see my Redeemer take His stand on the earth. To You, Lord God, be the glory as I pray in the name of Jesus, my Redeemer. Amen.
Psalms 78:35/Job 16:19 /Jeremiah 50:34/Micah 7:9/Job 19:27 NASB

Forever God

Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.
Isaiah 51:6 NASB

For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10 NASB

“For a brief moment I forsook you, But with great compassion I will gather you. In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you,” Says the Lord your Redeemer.
Isaiah 54:7‭-‬8 NASB

The earth and it’s inhabitants are not forever.
The world may be falling apart all around you.
God’s anger may be upon His people for a moment, which may seem like forever to us,

BUT. . .
God’s salvation is forever. His righteousness will never end.
God’s love for His children is everlasting.
His peace will not be shaken.
God’s compassion is for you.
God is our Redeemer!

🌹For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Psalms 30:5 NASB

My Redeemer Lives!

Yet as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last, He will take His stand on the earth.
Job 19:25 NASB

Do you know who Your Redeemer is?

And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their Redeemer.
Psalms 78:35 NASB

God, the Most High God, is the only true redeemer.

In Your faithfulness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation.
Exodus 15:13 NASB

🌹Does THE faithful Redeemer live in you? Are you being led in His strength? Surrender to Him today and let Him lead you to His holy habitation.

Words Of My Mouth

Who gave Jacob up for spoil, and Israel to plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, And in whose ways they were not willing to walk, And whose law they did not obey? So He poured out on him the heat of His anger And the fierceness of battle; And it set him aflame all around, Yet he did not recognize it; And it burned him, but he paid no attention.
Isaiah 42:24‭-‬25 NASB

Because lawlessness is increased,  most people’s love will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

God does not take lawlessness lightly. He has called His saints to be holy. He has called His saints to be upright, obeying the law. He has called us to be light to the darkness of the world. He has called us to freedom in Him.

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.  Galatians 5:13

My heart is so heavily burdened with the response of “God’s people” to the events happening in the world today. We are so self focused, worried about ourselves and the injustices we see all around us. Making known our own opinions about what is right in our own eyes. Taking our freedom of speech so far as to bring dishonor to God’s name.

I believe God is using the events of today to call His people back to Him. To repent of our sin, the greatest of which is:

But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:4

🌹Repent. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words to bring life to the unsaved and glory to God.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Redeemer

“As for me, I know that my *Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth. — Job 19:25

* Vindicator, defender; literally kinsman

“Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven,
And my advocate is on high. — Job 16:19

For their Redeemer is strong;
He will plead their case against you.

— Proverbs 23:11

“Their Redeemer is strong, the Lord of hosts is His name;
He will vigorously plead their case — Jeremiah 50:34a

Are we not blessed to have Jesus as our Redeemer? Justice may not be seen right away but know that Jesus is pleading the cause of His children. Jesus will be victorious because He has already overcome.

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33

You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. — 1 John 4:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. — 1 John 5:4

Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? — 1 John 5:5

Hope And Justice

So there is no justice among us,
and we know nothing about right living.
We look for light but find only darkness.
We look for bright skies but walk in gloom.
We grope like the blind along a wall,
feeling our way like people without eyes.
Even at brightest noontime,
we stumble as though it were dark.
Among the living,
    we are like the dead.
We growl like hungry bears;
    we moan like mournful doves.
We look for justice, but it never comes.
We look for rescue, but it is far away from us.
For our sins are piled up before God
    and testify against us.
Yes, we know what sinners we are.
We know we have rebelled and have denied the Lord.
We have turned our backs on our God.
We know how unfair and oppressive we have been,
    carefully planning our deceitful lies.
14 Our courts oppose the righteous,
and justice is nowhere to be found.
Truth stumbles in the streets,
    and honesty has been outlawed.
15 Yes, truth is gone,
and anyone who renounces evil is attacked.

The Lord looked and was displeased
to find there was no justice.
He was amazed to see that no one intervened
    to help the oppressed.
So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm,
    and his justice sustained him.
He put on righteousness as his body armor
and placed the helmet of salvation on his head.
He clothed himself with a robe of vengeance
and wrapped himself in a cloak of divine passion.
18 He will repay his enemies for their evil deeds.
His fury will fall on his foes.
He will pay them back even to the ends of the earth.
In the west, people will respect the name of the Lord;
in the east, they will glorify him.
For he will come like a raging flood tide
driven by the breath of the Lord.

“The Redeemer will come to Jerusalem
to buy back those in Israel
who have turned from their sins,”
says the Lord. — Isaiah 59:9-20 NLT

Things really have not changed since this was written in the book of Isaiah. God sent His Son. Seek Him and repent (confess and turn from your sin). Our only hope is Jesus Christ.

I Commit

Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have ransomed me, O Lord, God of truth. — Psalm 31:5

This is one of those verses that I am sure I have read a million times but it jumped off the page today and overwhelmed me. Into Your hand, the hand of God — the Creator, Almighty, Sovereign, Perfect, Holy, Omnipotent, Righteous, Just, Eternal, Omniscient, Merciful, Loving, Truthful, Redeemer, Savior! Wow! What better guardian of my spirit could I commit?

Then the overwhelming emphasis of the word “commit”. Commit is a word not to be taken lightly. We commit to stay married for better or worse. We commit to a job to be faithful and loyal. We commit to go out to eat with a friend. But this commit is to GOD. . . This commit is essential to our spiritual walk. This commit is total surrender to the Ruler of our hearts. This commit is to give all that we have and are, to entrust, pledge ourselves to the One who ransomed us. Again, Wow! I am blown away at the gravity of this one little word.

I had to take a look at myself and ask if I have committed my spirit to the One who ransomed me, Jesus Christ. Have I entrusted my spirit to the God of truth? I had to step back and evaluate my walk. I want to be able to truly say, “Into Your hand I commit my spirit” to the God of all truth so He can do a good work in me for His glory.

Thank You Lord Jesus for ransoming me, for paying the price on Calvary. I trust You and so I commit my spirit into Your hand. May You be glorified through me in the fulfillment of Your perfect plan. To You Lord God be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Have you truly committed your spirit to the Lord? If not, take this time now to do so. Evaluate your level of commitment. It really is all or nothing.

I found it very interesting that in all the I am’s I found, the list for “Lord” had the most references. I was once told that if the Bible stated something more than once it must be a very important message the Lord wants us to know. As I look over the list I see how easy it is accept that our God is King, a shield, a helper, teacher, etc. but when it comes to Lord it is a little harder to swallow. For God to be Lord of my life I must surrender all that I have, all that I am to His will and purpose. Hmm, could that be why the great I AM spoke so often, “I am Lord”?

Is He Lord of your life?
