1 John 3:16

We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:16 NASB

ūüĆĻJesus, You have called me friend, making known to me all that You have heard from Your Father. You showed me Your love by laying down Your life long before I existed, way back on Calvary. Today You still extend that love for me, your sheep, as my good Shepherd. You¬†are the good shepherd, and You know Your own and Your own know You.
Lord Jesus, lead me in Your footsteps to impart the gospel and also be willing to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of others in the faith, so I can rejoice and share my joy with all. For Your kingdom and Your glory I pray, amen.
John 15:15/John 15:13‭/John 10:11/John 10:14/1 Thessalonians 2:8/Philippians 2:17 NASB

Continually Seeking Him,

Friend Of Jesus

You are My friends if you do what I command you.
John 15:14 NASB

‚ÄúThis is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you”.
John 15:12 NASB

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13 NASB

Have you experienced the love of God? His love for you is so great that He, Jesus, left the glory of heaven, emptied Himself by becoming a bond-servant. He humbled Himself by allowing the world He created to nail Him to a cross where He died. His human body beaten. Spit on and despised by the very creation He created. Even in this victory over death many are still trying to nail Him to the cross.

He laid down His life so that we could experience sweet fellowship with Him. That abundant love and fellowship we experience with Jesus is to overflow to others. Just like Jesus. He commands it.

ūüĆĻAre you a friend of Jesus?

Continually Seeking Him,

Can You Hear?

No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. — John 15:15

Those who have accepted His gift of salvation, by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, have been set free, no longer slaves. Jesus calls us His friend. Friend is defined as a person known well to another and regarded with liking, affection, and loyalty; an intimate*. An intimate. How many friends do you have that are intimate friends?

An intimate friendship is a close personal relationship. In a close intimate relationship Jesus shares with us all things He has heard from the Father. Jesus says, “I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world.‚Ä̬ę So if Jesus is speaking, who is listening? Are you?

If we are not participating in the relationship we are not hearing what Jesus has to share. If we give Him 5-10 minutes a day we are not hearing everything He has to share. How much time do you share with your spouse or your best friend in a day? When you are sharing do you do all the talking? How much listening do you do?

Let us evaluate our relationship with Jesus. He gave His all for us. We really need to practice prayer everyday. An intimate time one on one with Him, talking and listening. He has so much to share with us. Are we willing to spend time with Jesus and be transformed into all He wants us to be? Take time to know Him intimately.

¬ę John 8:26

Seek? That Easy?

I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them. — Psalm 34:4-7

Wow! Is it really that easy? It must be. God mentions many times in His Word to seek Him and He can and will be found. His desire is for us to seek. AND when we do, O, the treasures we receive.

The Lord is with us and will not forsake us when we seek Him. Jesus answers and delivers us from all our fears. When we look to Him His radiance shows in our faces — we are not ashamed. Cry to the Lord and He hears and saves us out of our troubles, rescuing us by the encampment of angels around us.

So we have a friend who listens to us and answers also; takes our troubles, delivers us from fear, takes our shame away and will not forsake us. Why do we not seek Him, Jesus Christ?

Surrender and “seek the Lord and His strength. Seek the Lord continually.” — Psalm 105:4

Continually seeking Him,

And rescues them.the Lord is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. — 2 Chronicles 15:2b
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. — Psalm 9:10
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. — Matthew 7:7

The Best Friend Ever – Part 4

For the¬†Lord¬†your God is a¬†compassionate¬†God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them. — Deuteronomy 4:31

The best friend ever is compassionate. Compassionate means showing mercy and being sympathetic. How wonderful to have a friend who can sympathize with you. Jesus lived on earth as a man so He could relate to human experiences. What an awesome God who was willing to leave His throne to come to earth so He could relate to us. He is all about relationships, especially with us.

He is a friend we can share any part of our life with and He understands. Anything! What a blessing. And when we share our faults and failures He has mercy on us. He is not a friend who takes your confidential information and uses it to destroy you. He will not fail you. Could we ask for a better friend?

Jesus is our compassionate friend. Come to Him for the best friend you’ll ever have. He is waiting to have a relationship with you, to help you be the best you can be, a new person beyond your imagination. Seek my Friend. He is worth it.

Continually seeking Him,

The Best Friend Ever – Part 3

Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments; — Deuteronomy 7:9
The best friend ever has an attribute of faithfulness. Our Lord is faithful and can be trusted. He keeps His covenant and has enduring compassion for His friends Рthose who keep His commandments. How can we help but love Him? The great thing about this faithful friend is that if I am faithless, He remains faithful. His faithfulness does not depend on my faithfulness or in other words, my unfaithfulness does not effect His faithfulness. He cannot deny Himself.
Do you need a faithful friend? Jesus, our faithful friend, is calling you. He is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. This faithful friend loves us and released us from our sins by His blood. He is calling you into fellowship with Him. He so desires to have a relationship  with you that is lasting and faithful. Let Him into your life today and this faithful friend will take care of you like no other friend you ever had.
Simply confess you are a sinner to Jesus, your faithful friend, thanking Him for dying on the cross (shedding of His blood) to save you from darkness and eternal condemnation and believe that God raised Him from the dead. A heart felt prayer to God will change your life. Then tell someone you have done this so they may rejoice with you.
Don’t delay. Your faithful friend is waiting for that eternal relationship that begins with that simple prayer. Jesus is waiting to take you on the journey of a lifetime. Then seek Him continually.
Continually seeking Him,

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. — 2 Timothy 2:13

Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. — 1 Thessalonians 5:24

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. — 2 Thessalonians 3:3
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood‚ÄĒ — Revelation 1:5
God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. — 1 Corinthians 1:9

The Best Friend Ever – Part 2

Your hands made me and¬†fashioned me;¬†Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments. — Psalm 119:73

The best friend ever gives understanding to learn His commandments. Yesterday we read, “You are My¬†friends if¬†you do what I command you.” Isn’t it great that He not only desires us to keep His commandments but He gives us understanding of them so we can obey them. Our friend is so giving to us just for the asking. By prayer we spend quality time with our Friend deepening our relationship with Him and we receive His understanding when we ask.¬†

What a great Friend we have in Jesus. Relying on His understanding is so much better than our relying on our own understanding. We are limited, He is unlimited. We are finite, He is infinite. Let us lean on His understanding.

Continually seeking Him,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

The Best Friend Ever

You are My¬†friends if¬†you do what I command you.¬†No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for¬†all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. — John 15:14-15

Cast¬†your¬†burden¬†upon the¬†Lord¬†and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. — Psalm¬†55:22

Jesus has called me friend. Wow!!! As my friend, He reveals all things that He has heard from the Father. What wisdom and insight is at my disposal simply because I am His friend. He is loving and caring and wants me to know all about Him and how to live an abundant life. He is a friend who wants the best for me and will do what is best for me. Can anyone find a friend who wants your best all the time? With a friend like that I desire to know Him more. I seek to know Him deeper.

He listens and carries my burdens while giving me counsel to help in those burdens. He will not allow me to be shaken – His righteous one – another WoW! He considers me righteous because He is righteous and as my friend transposes His righteousness to me. Because of this I do what He commands, making me His friend.

Jesus is the best friend you could ever have. Seek Him through the Bible and by prayer (just talking to Him). Practice obeying His commands and you will never be shaken.
