Why Proclaim the Gospel?

Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
Psalms 104:1 NASB

Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
Psalms 96:2‭-‬3 NASB

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Mark 16:15 NASB

🌹They (I) shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom And talk of Your power; To make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations. Amen.
Psalms 145:11‭-‬13 NASB

3 John 12

Demetrius has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself; and we add our testimony, and you know that our testimony is true.
3 John 12 NASB

Are you ever concerned with what people say about you or see in you? Should you be?

Father God, You sent Your Son to pay the price for my sin and to give me life. This life that I now live is not mine. Christ lives in me by the Holy Spirit who resides in me. You have instructed me, in Your Word, to let my light shine before others in such a way that they may see my good works, and glorify You Father. Lord, I pray that I will walk in such a way that I would have a good reputation among those in the church and outside the church, so that I will not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil, bringing dishonor to Your name. I also ask that I walk in such a manner that when I share the gospel the one I share with will know that my testimony is true, so that they also may believe. I pray my walk in You gives me a reputation that gives You honor, glory and praise and is a testimony of Your truth in me. This I pray in Jesus name, amen.
Galatians 2:20/Matthew 5:16/1 Timothy 3:7/John 19:35 NASB

Testimony: my husband had a co-worker who approached him one day and asked, “What is different about you?”. He told him that Jesus lived in him. This began a relationship that eventually opened the opportunity for my husband to lead this man to the Lord.

🌹Does it matter what others see in you?

1 John 1:3-4

what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.
1 John 1:3-4 NASB

Joy made complete. What is joy made complete?
When the fellowship I have with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ is shared with you — my family, my neighbors, my co-workers, anyone who knows and loves Jesus as I do. That is why I share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I came to the realization of my need for Christ at the age of 15. At that time I thought myself a Christian. I went to church. I was a good, polite and moral young lady. At 11 I took a class to learn how to be a Christian and was baptized. I was now good to go.  .  . live as I wanted to. I had a place reserved for me in Heaven. No Hell for me.
Until God set me straight at 15 with a movie called, “A Theif in the Night”. That movie shook my world and made it clear that living a Christian life is more than having a mansion reserved for me in heaven. Or a happy life or being a moral person. The Bible says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.”  – Proverbs 1:7 NASB
The fear of eternal condemnation woke me up to my need for Christ. My need of a relationship with Him. It has not always been easy but it has all been worth the journey since I bowed before my Savior Jesus Christ at my bedside at the age of 15 and gave my life to Him, making Him Lord of my life.
Now I am reminded that,  “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Lord God, my Father, I thank You for that faithful, fateful night You called me to salvation, a true salvation. I thank You for not giving up on me but continually perfecting Your workmanship in me, Your creation over the years. I am grateful for the hard times that have strengthened me, making me more dependent on You. I thank You for the times of rejoicing because  of the good work You are doing in me and through me. I thank You faithful God for calling me into fellowship with Your Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord. May I never stop speaking about what I have heard or seen of Your mighty work unto salvation. And I pray, Lord God that You would use this testimony to touch lives for salvation, which is Your will, and for Your glory!! In Jesus name, amen.
Ephesians 2:10/1 Corinthians 1:9/Acts 4:20 NASB

🌹But the testimony which I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved.
John 5:34 NASB

Philippians 4:15-20

You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit (fruit) which increases to your account. But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Philippians 4:15‭-‬20 NASB

God of the gospel truth of my Savior Jesus Christ, thanks be to You, who always leads me in triumph in Christ, and manifests through me the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. You have made me a fragrance of Christ to You, God, among those who are being saved, an aroma from life to life; and among those who are perishing, an aroma from death to death.
May I be found adequate and speak in sincerety as from God, not corrupting the word of God, but speak in Christ in the sight of God.
Lord, I trust and believe You are able to do far more abundantly beyond all that I could ask or think, according to the power that works within me through Your Holy Spirit so I ask You to make all grace abound to me, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, I may have an abundance for every good deed leading to the proclamation of the gospel. Jesus, through You I have received the gospel, not of my doing so I have nothing to boast of. In pure thankfulness of my undeserved salvation, may I freely share Your saving grace with urgency having been entrusted to proclaim the gospel to everyone.
I also ask that my pocketbook would be used for the spread of the gospel as You see fit. All I have is Yours for Your glory. For from You and through You and to You are all things. To You be the glory forever. Amen.
2 Corinthians 2:14‭-‬17/Ephesians 3:20/2 Corinthians 9:8/1 Corinthians 9:16-18/Romans 11:36 NASB

🌹and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
Ephesians 5:2 NASB

Philippians 4:1-3

Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved. I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony (be of the same mind) in the Lord. Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
Philippians 4:1‭-‬3 NASB

🌹God, You are my rock, my solid ground, my firm foundation. In You I stand firm. Thank You for godly people in my life that encourage me in the faith. As we stand together firm, in You our Lord, may we be of the same mind, that is the mind of Christ, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose; conducting ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. God, may we be a blessing and example to others as we stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel! All to the glory of Your name and Sovereign plan to one day gather all Your saints that are written in the book of life recorded in heaven. Amen.

Philippians 3:7

But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Philippians 3:7 NASB

God of overwhelming magnitude. With You eminate joy, peace, contentment, eternity, relevance, life, meaning, love, worth, my very soul. I choose You to follow, love and put You, Lord Jesus, above all others and myself. I deny myself before You and take up my cross and follow as Your disciple. My life has been crucified in You. All that I am is Yours. All that I have is Yours. I have calculated the cost Lord and I choose You!!! For Your sake, Lord Jesus, I give You my life. My life is in You. I surrender all in Jesus name, amen.
Luke 14:26‭-‬28‭, ‬33/Matthew 10:37‭-‬39/Matthew 16:24-25/Mark 8:34-35/Luke 9:23-24

🌹For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:26 NASB
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
For what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:36-‬37 NASB
For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?

Philippians 2:29-30

Receive him then in the Lord with all joy, and hold men like him in high regard; because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was deficient in your service to me.
Philippians 2:29‭-‬30 NASB

Lord God, we all are in need of You. You equip us to be faithful workers for Your kingdom cause. Working together we can accomplish this. As there are areas of deficiency in all of us, You complete what is deficient in one by equipping another to come alongside. Thank You God for the body of Christ working together, even at the risk of life, for Your kingdom cause.
Lord, I pray for the equipping of Your saints for the work of Christ to the encouragement of the saints and to Your glory. In the name of Jesus, amen.

🌹But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.

Philippians 2:22-24

But you know of his proven worth, that he (Timothy) served with me in the furtherance of the gospel like a child serving his father. Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me; and I trust in the Lord that I myself also will be coming shortly.
Philippians 2:22‭-‬24 NASB

God, Holy, Holy, Holy are You. You are faithful, loving, kind, giving. You are truth and righteousness. Lord, You have a good reputation and we who know You speak well of You for the furtherance of the gospel.
As Paul commends Timothy to the Philippians, I pray that I would be found with a reputation of walking in integrity, my mouth a fountain of righteousness, my name known as one who brings You honor, glory and respect to Your name O God. May I be found in You all the days of my life trusting, obeying and professing You, Lord God, to Your joy and perfect will. Amen.

Philippians 2:19-21

But I hope in (or trusting in) the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition. For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare. For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 2:19‭-‬21 NASB

I don’t know about you but I struggle with “For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.”

How about you? What are your interests in this short life that you live? Do you wonder why you are on this earth? Do you have a purpose beyond just getting up each morning and surviving each day until you die? Are our successes, our interests satisfying? So satisfying that earth is all we want or need? Life is hard and to think this is all there is to it is disheartening, distressing, and downright heartbreaking.
God has a better plan. When our focus moves from self, “me, me, me” to God, we look to eternity and thus live differently. When we seek the interests of Christ Jesus we find all we need, want and blessings from God. We have hope. We have a new perspective on life that leads us to joy in serving God and others.

Jesus, Savior, giver of life. I exalt You! I seek Your forgiveness for focusing my thoughts, my ways, interests above Your way and Your interests.
I will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, believing the promise that all my needs will be added to me.
God teach me to love others, and not act unbecomingly; nor seek my own way. Love is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered.
Lord, help me not to seek my own good, but that of my neighbor to please them, not seeking my own profit but the profit of many, so that they may be saved. For was that not the reason You came to earth Jesus, so people may be saved? My interest will be Your interest, Jesus. The salvation of many. Guide my way, I pray, in Your name Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Matthew 6:25-33/1 Corinthians 13:5/1 Corinthians 10:24/1 Corinthians 10:33 NASB

🌹do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Philippians 1:27-30

Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God. For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
Philippians 1:27‭-‬30 NASB

Father of the Gospel, Jesus Christ, I pray for Your church. I pray that we would conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of Christ’s sacrifice. Help us to be on the alert, standing firm in the faith, and to be strong. I pray all that we do would be done in love. I ask Lord God for the congregation of those who believe that we would be of one heart and soul; and not one would claim that anything belonging to them was his own, but all things were common property to us all for the benefit of the gospel. God, through this bond of brotherhood in Your church, help us to persevere through faith in the midst of all persecution and afflictions which we face, helping us to endure. This is a plain indication of Your righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed we are suffering. God, as we, Your church, proclaim Jesus, help us admonish and teach every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ. May this be our purpose in the church, laboring, striving according to Your power working mightily within us.
God, my hope is to one say say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith”. I know that in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which You Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved the appearing of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ in whom I pray, amen.
1 Corinthians 16:13‭-‬14/Acts 4:32/2 Thessalonians 1:4‭-‬5/Colossians 1:28‭-‬29/2 Timothy 4:7‭-8

🌹Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:1

Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
