Philippians 2:22-24

But you know of his proven worth, that he (Timothy) served with me in the furtherance of the gospel like a child serving his father. Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me; and I trust in the Lord that I myself also will be coming shortly.
Philippians 2:22‭-‬24 NASB

God, Holy, Holy, Holy are You. You are faithful, loving, kind, giving. You are truth and righteousness. Lord, You have a good reputation and we who know You speak well of You for the furtherance of the gospel.
As Paul commends Timothy to the Philippians, I pray that I would be found with a reputation of walking in integrity, my mouth a fountain of righteousness, my name known as one who brings You honor, glory and respect to Your name O God. May I be found in You all the days of my life trusting, obeying and professing You, Lord God, to Your joy and perfect will. Amen.
Proverbs 10:7‭, ‬9‭, ‬11 NASB

Only One God for Me

For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many Lords,
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
1 Corinthians 8:5-‬6 NASB

🌹I know and will take it to heart, that You are the Lord – God in heaven above and on the earth below – there is no other. God, You are the God of the Old Testament and the New Testament which both speak of Your eternal nature. You are God and there is no other; You are God and there is no one like You. Sovereign God, the one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. God all things are from You and through You and to You. To You, Lord God, be the glory forever. Amen. 🙌

Reconnecting Day 4

A Father of a demon possessed child approaches Jesus and says, “But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us!:

And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.”
Mark 9:23 NASB

And He said to them, “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer.”
Mark 9:29 NASB

. . . “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
Matthew 17:20 NASB

Do I believe God can. . . . . .?
When I pray, do I believe in the power of God to save? To save my loved ones?
Do I pray consistently for their salvation, believing that the Almighty saving God can save them?
Do I tend to look to myself wondering, “Am I doing enough – sharing, living, pouring out Jesus before them?”  This is where I need to refocus.
It is not I who saves, but God who does. God can and will use me but their salvation does not depend on me.
I choose to pray in the power of the living God, walk in His saving power, and believe He has the power to save!! In that is freedom!

🌹It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Your Will be Done

He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.” Matthew 26:42

Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword.  Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?  How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”   Matthew 26:52‭-‬54 NASB

Your will be done. How many of us can truly say to God, “Your will be done”?

Many of us can say it until that will goes against our pampered lifestyle, our will, our wants, our idea of how it should be.

Jesus knew what He was about to face and was up front with the Father that if there is a way out He would take it BUT only if it was the Father’s will. At any time Jesus could have called on the Father to send help, as He told Peter and others around Him.

Jesus fulfilled the Father’s will just as the Scriptures predicted. At some point in time, the Scriptures are again going to be fulfilled when Jesus returns. In the meantime the world around us will turn more and more away from God and persecution of the saints will increase.

🌹 How are you living? God’s will be done?

No Fear, Only Hope

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.             John 14:27 NASB

Truly, truly, I say to you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will grieve, but your grief will be turned into joy.  Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.      John 16:20‭, ‬22 NASB

Even though this word was written at a time when Jesus was talking to His disciples about His leaving to return to the Father, it is still pertinent today. God’s word transcends time to speak to all generations.

We may be facing a time in our lives of personal weeping and lamenting. We also may  be facing a time in history when we will be weeping and lamenting the times we have had freedom from ridicule and persecution as a Christian.

But GOD!!! Hallelujah, but God. . .

He has given us peace that the world cannot comprehend. We have the promise that Jesus “will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.”

So as the world rejoices while we weep and lament over the depravity in the world, let us hold fast to the promises of God and be at peace.

🌹 No fear, no troubled heart. Only hope.

Read And Listen

“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.                   John 14:25‭-‬26 NASB

Here is Jesus speaking to His disciples while abiding with them, teaching, assuring, leading. But Jesus was about to be crucified so He would no longer be abiding with them. But out of His great love and purpose the Father would not desert them. He sent the Holy Spirit to abide in them.

Jesus spoke the word to the disciples. Disciples today have those words in the Bible. As the disciples had to walk and listen to Jesus, we have to walk with God and listen when we read the Bible. Ever wonder why you don’t hear God? Are you reading His word?

And the greatest part of reading and listening to God’s word is that when we need discernment, or to share the gospel the Holy Spirit will bring it to mind what to say because He abides in us. Hallelujah!!!

🌹 Read and listen. Trust and obey. God will use you.

Greater Works

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. John 14:10 NASB

Jesus abides in the Father and the Father in Him. The Father abiding in the Son worked for the fulfillment of His plan through Jesus. Do you believe in Jesus? Then . . .

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.        John 14:12 NASB

Greater works you will do if you believe and abide in Christ who abides in the Father. How?

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.       John 14:16‭-‬17 NASB

The Holy Spirit, abiding in you because of your belief in Jesus Christ, will enable you to fulfill God’s plan. The continuation of what Jesus started – sharing the truth, the good news.

Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”    John 18:37 NASB

This greater work that Jesus spoke of is the spreading of the gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit in you. How many people in the world have the Holy Spirit residing within them? That is the greater work. The Holy Spirit in the believer spreading the gospel worldwide, everyday.

These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.         John 15:11 NASB

🌹 Are you surrendering to the abiding Holy Spirit within you? Are you trusting Him to use you to further the work Jesus started? Are you listening, ready to respond at any moment? Someone’s life could be dependent upon you.

Be Careful Little Eyes

For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, — Romans 8:5-6

Remember the children’s song “Be Careful Little Eyes”? As I read this verse today this song came to mind. I have often wondered why this song is considered a children’s song.

For those who may not know the song:

Be careful little eyes what you see
Be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So be careful little eyes what you see.

Be careful little ears what you hear
Be careful little ears what you hear
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So be careful little ears what you hear.

Be careful little feet where you go
Be careful little feet where you go
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So be careful little feet where you go.

Are not the things we as adults put into our minds as important as what children’s minds are exposed to? If we are honest with ourselves we would do so much better if we read, watched, listened to and went places that were not in contrast to God’s Word. What we fill our minds with will effect where our feet walk, what comes out of our mouths and our actions.

A few years back when my children were young, (okay, more than a few years back), I removed offensive movies from my house. I stood on the belief that if it wasn’t good enough for my kids to see, it wasn’t good enough for me to see. Since then I have wandered from that but was quite convicted today when I read this verse. Am I being careful what I feed my mind? What am I watching on T.V.? What am I reading? Would I be doing these things if Jesus were standing or sitting right next to me in the flesh? Hmmm. I wonder.

If I am to be obedient to God’s Word and bring Him glory through my life, then I need to be careful what I see, hear and where I walk.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. — Philippians 4:8
