Triumphant Entry

When He (Jesus) approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.
Luke 19:41‭-‬42 NASB

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it! Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
Luke 13:34‭-‬35 NASB

Most of the crowd spread their coats in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road. The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!” When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?” And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Matthew 21:8‭-‬11 NASB

took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel.”
John 12:13 NASB

🌹As Palm Sunday ushers in Holy Week, may our thoughts meditate upon King Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem and what He was about to face on our behalf. The joy of the people praising Jesus to the bitterness of what was thought to be defeat to the victory over death forever.
I hope you will experience the true peace found only in Christ and be ready to celebrate the risen King on Resurrection Sunday.

Road to Triumph Pt. 4

They brought it to Jesus, and they threw their coats on the colt and put Jesus on it. As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road. As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully (rejoicing) with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, shouting: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”
Luke 19:35‭-‬40 NASB

Jesus. Proclaimed as coming. Coming as a king! The true just and righteous king.

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land.
Jeremiah 23:5 NASB

Jesus. Proclaimed not only as a just and righteous king but a humble king endowed with salvation. Coming humbly for the sake of others over His own glory.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Zechariah 9:9 NASB

Jesus. Came just as proclaimed.

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
Matthew 2:2 NASB

Witnessed as a king.

Nathanael answered Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel.”
John 1:49 NASB

King Jesus.

The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!”
Matthew 21:9 NASB

🌹“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
Luke 2:14 NASB

Jesus. Came humble and lowly. Are you ready for the triumphant return of King Jesus when He returns in all His glory?

King of kings

And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one.
Zechariah 14:9 NASB

Whom will you serve? Who it’s your priority?

The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the Lord our God and we will obey His voice.”
Joshua 24:24 NASB

🌹which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of Lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
1 Timothy 6:15‭-‬16 NASB

Enduring and Everlasting Kingdom

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
Isaiah 9:7 NASB

In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.
Daniel 2:44 NASB

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”
Luke 1:32‭-‬33 NASB

Looking at the world today there is much turmoil, anguish, uncertainty that instills fear in so many. But for the believer and follower of Jesus Christ there is hope. There is an everlasting Kingdom for the Christian whose King is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Son of the Most High and His kingdom had no end.

🌹Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. In that is peace and hope.

O Lord, Our Hope

O Lord, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You will be put to shame. Those who turn away on earth will be written down, Because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even the Lord. — Jeremiah 17:13

O Lord, our hope, I pray earnestly for those souls who forsake you. During this holy week may their eyes be opened to see the resurrected King. Help them to caste aside their shame and come to the living water. You Lord are the eternal fountain that flows within us so that we thirst no more.

I pray that our churches will be filled not only with the lost this Easter morning but also with Your Holy Spirit who draws all souls to You. May the call to salvation be heard clearly and the call to repentance obeyed. I hope and pray for thirsty hearts that pant for the living water. Call all to repentance dear Lord.

During this week I pray that we all come humbly to the cross and lay our sin and shame there and rise up renewed and full of rejoicing because You are risen!!!! I pray that we, Your children, come to church with gladness and rejoicing desiring to worship the risen King!

Are you looking forward to celebrating Resurrection Sunday?
