Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.

Judge or Reconciler?

Do not complain (groan), brethren, againstone another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing rightat the door.
James 5:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.5.9.NASB1995

Complaining never solves anything. It causes division, grumbling, separation and so much more. Take the matter at hand to the one concerned and attempt reconciliation.

Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; . . . .
James 4:11 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.4.11.NASB1995

God is the Judge. Not you. Not me.

but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
1 Peter 4:5 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1pe.4.5.NASB1995

Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.
1 Corinthians 4:5 NASB1995

🌹There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?

The Coming Reign

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.
James 5:7-8 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.5.7-8.NASB1995

With patience, let us prepare our hearts for the day of harvest when we will reap – see those we shared with, those we prayed for – before the throne of God. Do not grow weary.

Let us continue to sow the seed of righteousness as we follow Jesus.

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
Galatians 6:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/gal.6.9.NASB1995

🙏Lord God, help us to know You deeply and to walk in expectation of Your return, without neglecting the coming harvest of souls awaiting Your reign.

So rejoice, O sons of Zion, And be glad in the Lord your God; For He has given you the early rain for your vindication. And He has poured down for you the rain, The early and latter rain as before.
Joel 2:23 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jol.2.23.NASB1995

🌹So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”

Eternity: Devastation or Bliss?

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. . . . .

Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth (Hosts).
You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.
James 5:1, 4-6 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.5.1-6.NASB1995

The world is full of self-seekers; seeking their own pleasures and desires. People who want and will not let anyone stand in their way until they get it. Seeking the wealth and pleasures of this world. But in the end the consequences are eternal devastation.
The Christian life is not a life without struggles, challenges, nor ridicule – disdain, mockery, scorn, sarcasm, taunting – from the world we live in. But we have a God we can run to who understands. Who gives strength for the day, peace in the turmoil, contentment, joy, His eternal love and protection and eternal bliss.

🌹Which eternity are you seeking?

Where is Your Treasure Held?

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!
James 5:1-3 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.5.1-3.NASB1995

Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”
Hebrews 13:5 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.13.5.NASB1995

But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
1 Timothy 6:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/1ti.6.9.NASB1995

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Sing praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with a skillful psalm.

Who Is Exalted?

Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”
But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. Therefore, to one who knows the right (good) thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
James 4:15-17 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.4.15-17.NASB1995

Boasting is a sin when speaking of oneself. It is drawing attention to oneself to be noticed, exalted.
But is it evil when we lift up another person by boasting about them? I suppose it could be if it’s done for selfish reasons. But what if it is done to encourage one’s walk with the Lord by pointing out God’s work in them. Boasting about God and His divine work in others and ourselves will encourage, teach, uplift as we learn from one another, giving all the glory to God.

Is that boasting without arrogance?

Paul said it best:
🌹Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.

Please Inquire First for the Word of God*

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.
James 4:13-14 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.4.13-14.NASB1995

Example:
Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’
Luke 12:18-20 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.12.18-20.NASB1995

So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
Luke 12:21 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/luk.12.21.NASB1995

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.
Proverbs 27:1 NASB1995

Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”
James 4:15 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.4.15.NASB1995

And this we will do, if God permits.
Hebrews 6:3 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.6.3.NASB1995

for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

Only One Lawgiver and Judge

Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?
James 4:11-12 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.4.11-12.NASB1995

How easily it comes to us to point the finger, speak against, and judge a person for their words and/or actions without knowing the why of it. We all have been on both sides in this. We say or do something we regret and have been judged for it.

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
Matthew 7:1 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.7.1.NASB1995

Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.
James 5:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.5.9.NASB1995

For the Lord is our judge, The Lord is our lawgiver, The Lord is our king; He will save us—
Isaiah 33:22 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/isa.33.22.NASB1995

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
James 1:22 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.1.22.NASB1995

If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.
James 2:8 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.2.8.NASB1995

🌹If God is our Judge and the Judge of all His Creation, who are we to judge anyone? Especially a brother or sister. We are to love one another in obedience to the royal law.

Gloomy

Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom.
James 4:9 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.4.9.NASB1995

. . . For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law.
Nehemiah 8:9b NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/neh.8.9.NASB1995

The words of the law draws one to be convicted. When conviction causes us to mourn and weep in our souls, making us miserable, it is time to humble ourselves before God, seeking His forgiveness.

So that He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to safety.
Job 5:11 NASB1995
