Trust and Obedience

And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing. And He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics apiece.
Luke 9:2‭-‬3 NASB

Do you trust the Lord God to provide for your every need?

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.
Matthew 6:33 NASB

🌹Trust and obedience. Surrender to His will.

Joyous Satisfaction

Satisfy us in the morning with Your graciousness, That we may sing for joy and rejoice all our days.
Psalms 90:14 NASB

Do you have an established time each day when you set aside time to spend with your Creator, Father, Savior? Oh to spend time in the early morning, experiencing His graciousness through prayer and His word. Sets the tone and focus for the entire day.

With our focus on God we enjoy His leading. . .

Send out Your light and Your truth, they shall lead me; They shall bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places.
Psalms 43:3 NASB

But know that the Lord has set apart the godly person for Himself; The Lord hears when I call to Him.
Psalms 4:3 NASB

My soul longed and even yearned for the courtyards of the Lord ; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
Psalms 84:2 NASB

There is a river whose streams make the city of God happy, The holy dwelling places of the Most High.  God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.
Psalms 46:4‭-‬5 NASB

🌹Sing for joy in the Lord, you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright.
Psalms 33:1 NASB

Feasting & Living?

And He humbled you and let you go hungry, and fed you with the manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, in order to make you understand that man shall not live on bread alone, but man shall live on everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord.
Deuteronomy 8:3 NASB

🌹Are you feasting or starving? Living or dying?

How sweet are Your words to my taste!  Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalms 119:103 NASB

Prayer- Lost

(God speaking to Moses)
“Leave Me alone, that I may destroy them (the Israelites, God’s own chosen people) and wipe out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you (Moses) a nation mightier and greater than they.”
Then I (Moses) fell down before the Lord like the first time, for forty days and nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin whichyou (Israelites) had committed by doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.
The Lord was also angry enough with Aaron to destroy him; so I also prayed for Aaron at the same time.  Deuteronomy 9:14‭, ‬18‭, ‬20‭

Oh that we would seek to have a heart for the lost and wayward. So much that we would willingly sacrifice our comfort – food, drink, sleep, and interceed (pray) on their behalf before the Lord. OR
That we would revere our Holy God so much we would care about His name and reputation.

“So I fell down before the Lord for the forty days and nights, which I did because the Lord said He would destroy you.
And I prayed to the Lord and said, ‘Lord God, do not destroy Your people, Your inheritance, whom You have redeemed through Your greatness, whom You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand!
Otherwise, the people of the land from which You brought us will say, “Since the Lord was not able to bring them into the land which He had promised them, and since He hated them, He has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness!”
Deuteronomy 9:25-26‭, ‬28 NASB

🌹In the name of and for God’s sake are you praying for the lost in your nation to the glory of God?

Do Not Forget

“Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God by failing to keep His commandments, His ordinances, and His statutes which I am commanding you today;
otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, and you build good houses and live in them,  then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;
Deuteronomy 8:11‭-‬12‭, ‬14 NASB

Sometimes, . . . many times, contentment in the things of this world can draw our focus away from God. The God who is the supplier of our needs.

How do we keep from becoming proud?
Be in the word of God daily. Talk (pray) to God continually throughout the day. Obey Him. And praise Him with a thankful heart for the blessings He gives.

🌹Don’t forget the freedom you were given in Jesus.

The Faithful God

Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments;
Deuteronomy 7:9 NASB

but showing favor (faithfulness) to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Deuteronomy 5:10 NASB

🌹 Does the knowledge of the faithful God move your heart to love and obedience to Him?

Voice

Then the Lord spoke to you from the midst of the fire; you heard the sound of words, but you saw no form— there was only a voice.
Deuteronomy 4:12 NASB

We may not see the Lord God but His voice still speaks today. The God of the Old Testament is the same God of today. He does not change. He speaks to mankind.

You said, ‘Behold, the Lord our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire; we have seen today that God speaks with mankind, yet he lives.
Deuteronomy 5:24 NASB

Like the nations that the Lord eliminates from you, so you shall perish, because you would not listen to the voice of the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 8:20 NASB

How do we hear the voice of God? I know He is able, still today, to speak through a burning bush, but today. . .
He gave us His Word in written form;
the gift of prayer to converse with Him;
His Holy Spirit who speaks to our heart;
His church for counsel and confirmation and circumstances in our lives (God is in control) to speak to us.

🌹Can you hear and are you listening to the voice of God?

Attention to the Word

One who pays attention to the word will find good, And blessed is one who trusts in the Lord.
Proverbs 16:20 NASB

How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalms 119:103 NASB

Taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Psalms 34:8 NASB

🌹Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NASB

Waiting on the Lord

Whether it was two days or a month or a year that the cloud lingered over the tabernacle, staying above it, the sons of Israel remained camped and did not set out; but when it was lifted, they did set out. At the command of the Lord they camped, and at the command of the Lord they set out; they kept the Lord’s charge, according to the command of the Lord through Moses.
Numbers 9:22‭-‬23 NASB

We are powerless without the Lord God. We cannot fulfill His purpose without Him; His guidance, counsel, direction. With Him, following Him, we are victorious. Without His leading we are venturing out on our own. We are defeated before we ever take a step.

🌹We don’t move until God says to move.

Continually Seeking Him,

Sharon

Friend Of Jesus

You are My friends if you do what I command you.
John 15:14 NASB

“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you”.
John 15:12 NASB

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13 NASB

Have you experienced the love of God? His love for you is so great that He, Jesus, left the glory of heaven, emptied Himself by becoming a bond-servant. He humbled Himself by allowing the world He created to nail Him to a cross where He died. His human body beaten. Spit on and despised by the very creation He created. Even in this victory over death many are still trying to nail Him to the cross.

He laid down His life so that we could experience sweet fellowship with Him. That abundant love and fellowship we experience with Jesus is to overflow to others. Just like Jesus. He commands it.

🌹Are you a friend of Jesus?

Continually Seeking Him,

Sharon
