Goal 2024

This verse was my 2023 verse of the year. It is a very difficult verse to live, so difficult that it is also my 2024 verse of the year.

What I have come to know is that to accomplish this,

#1 I had/have to:

humble myself before Almighty God:

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

#2 I had/have to lay down my will:

#3 Surrender my plans:

#4 Surrender my way:

#5 AND My life:

One God

Invitation To A Feast

Parable of the Dinner

But He said to him, “A man was giving a big dinner, and he invited many; and at the dinner hour he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come; for everything is ready now.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of land and I need to go out and look at it; please consider me excused.’ Another one said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out; please consider me excused.’ Another one said, ‘I have married a wife, and for that reason I cannot come.’ And the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the head of the household became angry and said to his slave, ‘Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame.’ And the slave said, ‘Master, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.’

The invitation has been sent out.
The gospel is the invitation of God to eternal life. To partake of the heavenly feast that God has prepared, salvation.
Did you notice the similarities in the responses to decline the invitation? “I”, “I”, “I”. When it becomes all about me, me, me, the boat will sail, the dinner will go on, eternal life will happen but without you.
All humanity is crippled, blind, lame, hurting, lost, poor in need of a Savior. Will you accept the invitation and partake of the feast? Or will you enjoy the me, me, me now and miss out on the great eternal supper with God?

🌹Come. There is still room.

Obedient Amazement

When He (Jesus) had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.” Luke‬ ‭5:4‭-‬5‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

We can sure get stuck in our ways and think we know best, especially at things we do all the time. But when God steps in we need to listen and obey. Obedience to God’s direction and walking in His will and way brings blessings for ourself that overflows to others.

When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break; so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats so that they began to sink. Luke‬ ‭5:6‭-‬7‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

God will also reveal His glory to us if we watch in anticipation.

Come, Lord Jesus

‭‭As the day of Christ’s return draws closer and closer and as I long for that glorious day, my heart still yearns for more time as I look around me at all the lost souls in need of a Savior.

He Will Speak

Here, Jesus is speaking to His disciples about the Holy Spirit. This message is also for every born again believer. This message is good news for the believer. Through the Holy Spirit we can hear the voice of God. “whatever He hears, He will speak”. The Holy Spirit will speak truth that guides us.

Now that is reassuring good news. Are you listening?

Lamplight

“No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear (healthy), your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness.

The light of Jesus is given to every believer saved by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

That light is not to be put in a cellar, under a basket nor container*¹, nor under a bed*². The light is to give light to all who enter, to all in the house*³.

The light is not for the believer alone, it is to be shared with, given to others.
Jesus is the Light that shines through an obedient, following believer. Your eye is the light to your body.

‭‭to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’

Be Holy

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
