Therefore Finale

Practice these things and you will not stumble“: 2 Peter 1:10

and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. 2 Peter 1:7 NASB

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; (outdo one another in showing honor.) Now as to the love of the brethren, we ourselves are taught by God to love one another. By God’s Word and our Teacher, the Holy Spirit abiding in us. We have been anointed with the receiving of the Holy Spirit of God who teaches us about all things, and is true and is not a lie. We have been taught to abide in Him. Abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. Romans 12:10/1 Thessalonians 4:9/1 John 2:27-28 NASB

So to know that you know that you know . . .

Read God’s word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit; practice what you have learned; and abide in Jesus. Abide in His righteousness, His power, His way. Work together with brothers and sisters in Christ, fulfilling what God set us apart for, His purpose.

🌹If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him. 1 John 2:29 NASB

The Church – Keeping the Unity

but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.     Ephesians 4:15‭-‬16 NASB

Jesus must be made the head of the body, the Church, for unity to be accomplished. He places each part (person) of the body in the church and He “causes the growth for the building up of itself in love”. We individually must surrender to the Lordship of Christ and be obedient to His commands (the Word of God, Bible).

Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25 NASB

Neighbor: members of the church and accountable for and to one another.

be angry, and yet do not sin ; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. Ephesians 4:26‭-‬27 NASB

Remember that the devil is seeking whom he may devour and if he can destroy a church he will. Let us not give him the opportunity.

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29‭ NASB

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Ephesians 4:31 NASB

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.  Ephesians 4:32 NASB

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30 NASB

from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.    Ephesians 3:15‭-‬19 NASB

🌹O the blessings, the “riches of His glory”, “strengthened with power through His Holy Spirit”, the dwelling of Christ in the heart! By this and our obedience we comprehend with all the saints the abounding, overflowing, tremendous love of God and are filled to the fullness of God.

Your Portrayed Image

“For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend; So that he does not forsake the fear (reverence for) of the Almighty.            Job 6:14 NASB

How we relate to people around us should demonstrate our reverence for Almighty God. When you relate to people around you – by your words, facial expressions, body language – what are they seeing?

Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.            Philippians 4:5 NASB

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.          Colossians 3:17 NASB

🌹Whose image are you portraying?

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.           2 Corinthians 3:18 NASB

Crop Sowing and Reaping Pt. 3

You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, You have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors, Hosea 10:13 NASB
Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord Until He comes to rain righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12 NASB
Therefore, return to your God, Observe kindness and justice, And wait for your God continually. Hosea 12:6 NASB

The book of Hosea is about the call of God to Israel for repentance. It is still speaking to us today. God preserves those who walk with Him, who follow in obedience, and trust their whole being to Him, trust in Him with their lives.

God is calling. Calling us to return to Him.

God is calling. Calling us to repentance.

God is calling. Calling us to drop our ways and trust in His ways.

God is calling us. Calling us to observe kindness and justice.

God is calling us. Calling us to wait for Him.

God is calling. Are we listening?

Wait for Him. It takes a still, quiet heart focused on the Lord God to hear Him. Seeking Him in His word and prayer consistantly. Listening in anticipation, expecting God to reveal Himself.

Do you want to experience God fully? Seek Him through His word, prayer, fellowship with other believers and listen.

Crop Sowing and Reaping Pt. 2

Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord Until He comes to rain righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12 NASB

Sow with a view to righteousness,
Sow: to scatter (seed) over land, earth, etc., for growth; plant.

Everyday we have encounters with someone. Opportunity to scatter the seed of righteousness. Are you aware of your daily encounters with people? Is the Word of God so implanted in your heart and mind that your view is to righteousness with each encounter?

Reap in accordance with kindness;
Reap: to gather or take (a crop, harvest, etc.).

People. God’s creation. Everyone a God created being. Do we treat each person we encounter with kindness? Seeking to reap, harvest, gather their soul for the kingdom of God?

Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 (NASB)

And He was saying to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Luke 10:2 (NASB)

Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. John 4:35 (NASB)

Break up your fallow ground,
Fallow: not in use; inactive

Is our “Christianity” inactive? Are we content with the current nature of our being? Our surroundings? Our interactions with others? Do we have a deep concern for the spiritual condition of others or are we content that “I am saved”?

It’s time for us to break up our fallow ground.

How?!

For it is time to seek the Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you.

When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.” Psalm 27:8

Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually. Psalm 105:4

It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit in us and our surrender for the use by God to sow and reap for a harvest of righteousness within us.

Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; 2 Corinthians 9:10 (NASB)

Listen To The Word

Listen to the word of the Lord, O sons of Israel,
For the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land,
Because there is no faithfulness (truth) or kindness (loyalty)
Or knowledge of God in the land. — Hosea 4:1

Does the Lord have a case against you?

Student See, Student Do

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. — Colossians 3:12-15

Through the Word of God (Bible) we see Jesus. He is compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. He is forgiving and loving. It is only through Christ that His church is unified and it is only in following Him, learning His attributes and practicing them that we can experience the peace of Christ.

Jesus our example, the Holy Spirit our teacher. As we draw closer to Jesus Christ, study His Word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and learn, we will reflect the character of our teacher. We will reflect Jesus to others.

The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. — Galatians 6:6-8

Are You Certain?

Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. — 2 Peter 1:10-11

“Be diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you”. Are you sure that you know that you know that you know Jesus Christ? The scripture here says to be diligent (constant in effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything) to make sure that you are walking with the Lord.

How are we to be diligent? “Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 1:5-8)

Pursuing God with these traits keeps us from stumbling on the road to God’s eternal kingdom. As we diligently seek Jesus, the greater our knowledge of Him and the deeper our walk. Seek the things above and know the Lord. Be sure (certain) that you know that you know that you know Jesus personally. Your eternal life depends on it.
