I Never Knew You

How does one come to know another? I mean really know someone. Isn’t it spending time with them? Time spent learning what they like, dislike? What brings them joy, what makes them angry? “What makes them tick?” It’s being willing to also be known ourselves?

Do you know Jesus Christ? Do you take time to know His likes, dislikes; what brings Him joy, or disappointment? Do you spend time letting Jesus know what’s happening in your life? Your likes? Your dislikes? Your disappointments? Your joys?

Do you wonder how you can do this? Well, reading the Word of God and praying will help. It will open your eyes to know God. A real and personal relationship with your Creator.

Your life depends on knowing that you know, that you know . . . God.

Is Your Light On?

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. The verse “nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house” can be found four times in the Gospels. Matthew 5:15, Mark 4:21, Luke 8:16, and Luke 11:33.

I consider it an important statement if it is mentioned four times. Could it be a reminder that salvation is more than receiving? That it is about shining the Good News in the lives of others? Jesus is the Light that shines through believers to the world.

I (Jesus) have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.

‭O, how many times I have been there. How about you? Getting caught up in life, seeking our own way, putting Jesus on the back burner as we strive for the good life when Jesus is the way to the good life.
Jesus made it very clear through three of the Gospels — Matthew, Mark and Luke — what is expected of us who call ourselves His “disciples”.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
