Prayer Offered in Faith -1

Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders (Gr. ekklesia – called out one) of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
James 5:14-15 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.5.14-15.NASB1995

Anointing with oil was common in the Old Testament and a continued custom in Jesus’ day, as we can read in Mark 6. Jesus sends His disciples out by two and they were anointing many sick people and healing them.

The emphasis in this passage of James is the power of prayer offered in faith. The prayer of faith will save. The Lord will lift them up and forget their sin. I can’t help but think the source of sin is the sickness.

By faithful believing prayer the sick are healed, brought to salvation. The salvation that begins with prayer and extends into eternity.

Thank God for the power of prayer that saves lives. Who are you praying for?

Faith Works

What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?
James 2:14 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.2.14.NASB1995

Works is an outpouring of faith. The desire, the call to serve sincerely, comes from a heart to serve our Lord God. Do you know that you know that you know you are saved?

Salvation is a commitment to follow and serve God.

Are you content in your salvation?

Clothed in Preistly Righteousness

. . . as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved,
Colossians 3:12a NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/col.3.12.NASB1995

Believer, we are a new person, in the likeness of God. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ; be clothed in His righteousness.
Ephesians 4:24/Romans 13:14/Job 29:14

I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10 NASB1995
https://bible.com/bible/100/isa.61.10.NASB1995

If you are not a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and are ready to confess your need for His salvation; take a moment to ask Jesus to come into your life and lead you in the way you should go. Make a heartfelt request asking forgiveness for the sin Jesus died for you, so you may be clothed in His righteousness for eternity.
When you have done this, seek a believer and a Pastor, and tell them. Continue to seek God through the Bible, Bible Study, Church. You won’t be sorry.

🌹Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your godly ones sing for joy.

You judge according to the flesh; I am (Jesus) not judging anyone.

“My soul waits in silence.” That’s hard for some of us, isn’t it? Waiting is hard enough, but in silence? Really?
But God. He is found in the stillness of our mind; in the openness of our heart, willing to receive a word from Him; in the silent waiting. Jesus is our continual salvation minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day.

Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
